PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS GOVERNING COUNCIL AND PRINCIPAL OFFICERS OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY IN OGONILAND

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed the Pro-Chancellor, governing council members, and principal officers of the Federal University of Environment and Technology, Koroma/Saakpenwa, Ogoni in Rivers State.

Prof. Don Mon Baridam, from the South-South, is the pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, while Prof. Chinedu Mmom, also from the South-South, will serve as the vice-Chancellor.

Baridam is a professor of Management with a specialisation in Organisational Behaviour. He previously taught at the University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State.

Mmom is a professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Port Harcourt. He was also a former commissioner for education in Rivers State.

The Governing Council comprised a diverse team, with members from different regions of the country.

They are Mr. Emmanuel Onoja (North Central), Mr. Hamid Adekunle (South West), Prof. Chima Oji (South East) and Alhaji Abdullahi Magaji Lamda (North West).

President Tinubu appointed a team of professionals to play key roles at the university.

Dr. Mpigi Monday Douglas from the South South will be the Registrar, Zoryii Josco Nwaimanie from the North Central will take on the role of Bursar, and Dr. Saghanen Ntogo G. B. from the South South will be the Librarian.

The new University will admit its first cohort of students in September 2025. President Tinubu signed the bill establishing the University into law on February 3, 2025.

Ogoni people and South South, know ur enemies by name. They were also angry with the Lagos Calabar coastal highway.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the establishment of University Of Environment in Ogoniland, inaugurated an action plan for the cleanup of Ogoni land, granted Presidential pardon to Ken Saro Wiwa and other Ogoni eight and conferred on them a posthumous national award. He granted the long standing demands of the Ogoni people. Presidents have come and gone yet the Ogoni's demands were ignored.
Kudos to Mr President, Nigeria are solidly behind you to complete the good works for eight years, I'm not bothered a bit by the barking of dogs. Mr President, your eight years in office was signed sealed and delivered a long time ago.

This hatred will still kill some people. The good news of the unprecedented performance of this administration must keep giving them constant headaches and diarrhea for another six years from now.

President Tinubu granted the establishment of a federal university in Ogoni Land and they are already angry. These are the same set of people that would say that this country Nigeria has not capacity to accommodate all the secondary school graduates they turn out every year.

Yet, they are already wailing that universities are being established. Before now, was there any federal university in Ogoni land? The answer is no. Then why are you angry?

They said it will be underfunded. Are you the government? Why do you drink Panadol for other people's headache?

It is so unfortunate we share the same country with these people. It is very bad.

Keep wailing, you have six solid more years to go.

Just take University of Abuja for example. Is it underfunded? Those atrociously poor buildings in the permanent site, was that the best they could do? I've been to private universities too. Some remind you of the very best in the world, some are worse than village schools.

The campus is actually one of the Zonal Secondary schools that was built by Gov. Amaechi and abandoned and killed by Wike in Kira in Tai LGA. After spending #4 Billion in building the school it was in disuse and was overtaking by weeds.

The facility was given to RSU as one of its satalite campuses and was subsequently handed over to the new school by Gov. Sim.

Make e no be like the new school at Iyin-Ekiti that's will be starting activities in September, but their website say that already have over 2000 students... As in, how?
