OP leave matter, you no see as our GDP and even insecurity improved thanks to the victory by the falcons? Even our roads are better now and fuel price has reduced, who doctors, teachers and soldiers help? Why should they be paid more when Falcons has made Nigeria a better place? Even farmers and herdsmen don dey chill under Mango tree with a cup of kunu, there is now peace in the land. Abeg 2 trillion more for the Super Falcons.

Well, in foreign countries. they have labour movements and pay livable wages.
So even though teachers may not be millionaires over there, they can sha, drive car,
wear shoe, look good, eat food, pay transport, pay rent.

They can live like ordinary human beings without begging.

This is what happens when you force your way to become president through Emilokan. No campaign, no manifesto, no competing with anyone . He just bought over his competitor. He got there, he doesn't know how to spend our money, no priority . He built Lagos, he train leaders bla bla bla. Workers are owed a backlog of entitlements including the absurd N35k palliative or whatever it's called and minimum wage arrears. That's not a priority to government but they were quick to dole out dollars and other gifts to athletes who were doing their job. Nothing spoil.

Well, if it were up to me, I would think the monthly salary of a Professor should not be less than N10 Million.

I hope you know most professors in Nigeria earn about N500k Monthly as salary. An amount that cannot take them a few days.

The media and average Nigerians are so hypocritical, these same people complained the female counterpart had been neglected and treated as being inferior for so long even when they often bring glory back home while their male counterpart are usually given heroic welcome. Comparing the gesture to civil servants is misplaced and misdirected. The civil servants enjoys upward review of salaries and after retirement, they get gratuities and pensions for life. The Athletes, once retired or has a career ending injury, they are left on their own, many of our sport heros died in penury , some are battling with varying degree of illness as we speak, that more often than not, the public set up for them a GoFundMe account. As a nation, we can do better, bury the bitterness and political and ethnic bias. We are grateful to Mr President and we expect he follows through for others. Very soon, Mr President will Inaugurate Sport Trust Fund to cater to the welfare and development of our athletes across sports.

Pay them for how long? 1 month salary or the next 2 years? None sense analysis.

Its not as though the girls should not be celebrated. They should of course. Its just that when you put that into context with Professors earning N500K Monthly in this country, it certainly is something to wonder about.

Unpopular opinion:Truth be told nothing stops Professors and other academician seeking grants if they have laudable research that may lead to profitable patent to augment the income.

Super falcons are not paid monthly or even yearly, its not a salary. its more of performance bonus or contract.

why don't u complain about contractors paid billions for projects?

In all honesty it's too much, if what was given to falconet is truly $100k each. It makes no economical sense if all the price the nation will get for the trophy is $1m and you are dashing out over $2m already.
