Has anyone who got their visa approved since May 28th till date, (for F-1 visa renewal (Fall 2025)) gotten the “Passport is ready” message?.

CEAC has been on “application received”for a number of Fall 2025 students. Anyone experiencing similar?

YOU
Please someone here should help mentor me, maybe there's something I am doing wrong or I'm not just lucky.

Everyone God created has element of luck. You are doing something wrong.

YOU
I have applied to schools and the story have always been the same rejection upon rejection.
See the mail I got from a professor at Grand valley State University.

If you are genuinely qualified, one of those schools would have admitted you. U.S. institutions operate Equal Opportunity for All, and admitting international students gives them a reputation.

YOU
While I have been on this since 2021 , I'm trying my best to keep reaching out to professors, I recently reached out to a professor at Texas and we had a zoom session, the session lasted over an hour and since then she has ghosted me , no response from her even after asking for recommendation letters that I sent to her.

As I mentioned above, reaching out to professors or having hours with a professor on Zoom and sending application materials does not guarantee admission. Your overall academic standings doesn’t worth the department you are seeking, and that is what the Texas professor concluded , therefore, getting back to you is not necessary (though she might still get back as profs are usually busy).

YOU
What should I do? Somebody should mentor me.

This bank work don tire me ooooo, I want to practice my passion and do what I really love.

I can not accurately direct you until I discover your academic background, i.e., cgpa, course of study, intending program, etc. You may also need more wisdom and concentration in sending out your admission applications. You may also have a problem in the area of SOP and recommendations. 👍
I studied Microbiology and have a cgpa of 3.89/5.0 and converted it is 3.25/4.0

School scholarship: 4k
Personal funding: 12k
External funding: (from relative) 11k
Embassy: Lagos Consulate

Transcript:

VO : good morning
Me: good morning sir

VO: how many schools did you applied to
Me: 3 schools I mentioned them……….

VO: when did you graduate
Me: June of 2016

VO: have you traveled outside the country before
Me: No I have not had a reason to till now.

VO: sorry I won’t approving your visa at this time
Me: Thank you, and left with my blue paper

Don’t know what to make of this, it was very short

Quick question:
After deferring to spring since fall semester won’t work, can I use same SEVIS for another school, or it has to be the same school, cos I understand the SEVIS expires after one year.
Please note, I can only defer to spring according to the school, I can’t defer to another fall term.

Would appreciate explanation on the SEVIS, and how long it stays and if it can be use for other schools other than the original school it was used for.

Thank you
Your COA is 39k but 27k proof of funds was submitted. The math did not add up n you can see why the interview could not proceed.

3-months visa policy cannot work on F1 visas . Take it to B1/B2.
We can’t really do anything about it since the policy applies to non-immigrant visas, and the F1 visa falls under that category.

That’s why I’m asking has anyone recently gotten their F1 visa under the new rule.

How exactly does the 3-month validity work?

Does it start counting from the date of issue, or closer to the program start date?
For instance, if your program begins in January 2026 but you get your visa in September 2025, would it still be valid by resumption?

Hello people, please I need advice. I intend to apply for an Ivy League mba in the USA. It’s very expensive but I intend to take loan of day $100k which is very high.

How do I defend this given that I would be expected to return to Nigeria after schooling. Which I obviously won’t as my aim is to stay back. Ivy League MBA guarantees a really good job at least 90% of the time in the USA.

I see people go for these Ivy League programs, how do they scale through to get student visa. I will appreciate any help please.

Thank you
It's a good thing to aspire to ivy League but I don't think there is anything worthwhile in these overpriced MBAs.

Find another course in my opinion, and look for a school ( around 20k per year). Look for schools that have the word "State" are usually cheap.

No carry small eye look American schools, the average college(not university) has way better infrastructure than the very best schools in Naija.

I don't think Nigerian VO will will allow you present empower or prodigy but if you find way enter, those companies go give you money.

F1 visa renewal. Class resumption is fast approaching. Really in mental distress now.
I really don't know if any F1 visas have been issued since the policy change back in June. My last status update was July 2nd.

The policy applies to some non-immigrant visas NOT ALL.

● Since July 10th they have not issued 3- months visa to any f1 applicant 😀

● F1 visa is usually indefinite (regardless of the year or month issued) and remember the same student visa is being issued to Chinese , Indians, Europeans etc. Therefore, if the policy will affect f1 visa it must be worldwide.

FYI: That's not true. They have been issuing 3-months visa to F1 applicants. You can ask around if in doubt

I am 100% in doubts. Help us to scan the visa page here. Kindly cover the private information. I have not seen it. Pls ...I am eager to see it.

Mind you. either 3 months or 2 years , F1 visa is indefinite once issued.👍

I am also in the same situation, F1 renewal too. I've been on AP since June 17th and only got an update email from them last week saying all social media accounts should be set to public. I'll start emailing them once the 60 days window is up.

I've been seeing your comments on this matter for some time now, so I know that you'll be in doubt of what I said. Just like I mentioned, you can ask around to clear your doubt.
To your other comment on F1 visa being indefinite, I'm not sure I understand what you mean as that's not the case in principle. A visa is simply what gives you authorization to enter a country and and in most cases have a validity period. For the non-immigrant visa, that validity period has now been reduced to 3 months and it's single entry, meaning that you can only use it once and within the 3 months validity.

For a student, once you're in the US, you're legally entitled to stay in the US for the period of your studies. However, if you have a course to travel out of the US, you might need to apply for another visa in the light of this single entry 3-months validity period visa.

If I were you, I would just upload one of the 3 months of the f1 visas so that i can take it as a reality. In all honesty, i have not seen a 3 months f1 visa since July 10, 2025, and if you can not convince me beyond my doubt, that means you are also generalising.

YOU.
To your other comment on F1 visa being indefinite, I'm not sure I understand what you mean as that's not the case in principle.

Okay, let me make you understand that. When you are given a 1 year student (Bsc) visa this january 2025, and you entered america as a student same year, which means your visa expiration is jan 2026. Did you know that your visa validity is beyond January 2026 (i-94 certificate says duration of status) ? If you do not have any cause to travel out of the U.S.A, then you can use the same f1 visa (issued in Jan 2025 for your Bsc) to finish your phd. perhaps in the next 6 years. You dont need visa when you are inside USA.

Let you and I sit down and reason how your thinking above is going to work for all international students in america ? If any student is sick and needs to go home, or attend urgent family meetings and come back to school immediately, such a student will have to go and apply for a re-entry visa?

After the Xmas or Sallah holiday, you mean Nigerians, Chinese , Indians , French, Saudi Arabians , Istrealis, etc. will troop to the U.S. embassies in their various countries for another visa in order to go back to school ?

Even if the 3-month visa issuance is going to stay on f1 visas, there must be exclusive flexibility for all international students. Otherwise, the U.S. embassy staffs can not handle the loads. 👍

Oga show us the evidence. It doesn't affect me because i am no more in the category of visa applicants. That being said, even if its 1- day visa its going to be indefinite. The best way to transmit genuine info is by evidence.

Greetings great minds, thanks for keeping this place informative. Please I need help. My programme starts late August 2025 but the interview date I have is September 12, 2025, i requested for emergency appointment and even sent an email to the US embassy Abuja that they should please look into it, they replied saying there are lots of requests and they will surely reply. I have been waiting for more than a month.

Please is there anyone who has a date in early August 2025 that is willing to swap with me? If yes please send me an email on peaceglobalforreal@gmail.com. GOD BLESS YOU
■■

Be patient. Don't go and exchange your visa destiny with failure. You can still resume in September 12 by asking your school for formal letter to resume a bit late after the start of class. Port of entry officials also understand this present visa scenario. 👍

My professor told me one thing that attracted him to my mail was my email heading (title of email)

What heading do you use?
Do you send your CV while sending your CV?
Is your email too bulky?

I don’t mind if the visa is valid for only 3 months. My main concern is that many of us received earlier visa appointment dates several months before the school resumption date. According to U.S. policy, F1 visa holders are only allowed to enter the U.S. up to 30 days before the start of their program. So, if someone gets their visa approved 3–4 months ahead of resumption, they may not be able to travel in time before the visa expires

Timshin:
You want to take a loan of 100k? Please abort that mission. First of all, Mpower will not give you a loan of more than 50k usd per annum, and I don't think Prodigy too will, besides there is no loan company that will give you a loan of 100k usd because they would be skeptical about you paying them back. Secondly, are you aware that you would be paying the interest of that loan at a higher rate all through school? If you collect a loan of 100k, you can be paying an interest of up to 1500 to 2000 usd per month. Remember that you will still need to feed, pay your rent, and utilities, and other miscellaneous. So how do you want to cope. Lest you forget, even if you are lucky to get a job in a fortune 500 company, the way America is designed, you might not be able to pay that loan off in the next 30years of your life. Do you want that life?. Now to my advise, relax and calm down. Admission process isnt something you can rush. Find schools that can pay up to 50 to 60% of your tuition, and even if you would be taking out a loan, it would be very very little. Its not compulsory to go to an ivy league, it would only plunge you into debt.Check out affordable but not low ranked business schools and get your degree there, it doesn't stop you from getting fantastic jobs. Companies prefer candidates who have great minds and can solve problems. They wont eat the name of your school either you are from MIT or Harvard. There are tons of testimonies out there about people who went to affordable schools for their business degrees and got their dream jobs. It's not worth it if you finish your degree in a year, and get plunged into debts and you start having sleepless nights. It would only be worth it if at the end of your degree, you get your salary and have left overs comfortably without getting worried about debts. Think about your family too, they need you to help them out at home. Note that this advise is not to condemn or discourage you, its from a heart of positivity and resilience. It's from someone who was in your shoes 2 years ago, but went back to re-examine everything and finally got a fully funded scholarship later to study. I wish you all the best bro.
Hello Aunty Timshin,

I hope you're doing well. You mentioned you received a fully funded scholarship with zero deficit, and I'm curious about a few things.

Will the I-20 with full funding with zero deficit be sufficient for the visa interview without needing to show a bank statement?
Did the school issue your I-20 without requiring a bank statement since it's a full funding?
I'm considering applying to an Ivy League school that offers a full-ride scholarship for my course. Will there still be a deficit on my I-20 given their location?

If a full-ride scholarship guarantees a zero-deficit I-20, it would definitely influence my decision to apply.
