Your hand does not have to be raised to concede a penalty, it just has to be away from your body, which our player's hand was, same with the Moroccan player.

I attached a picture of the incident, you can clearly see that our girl's hand was away from her body. I think it perhaps touched a Moroccan's hands first before hitting our girl cause otherwise, I'm not sure it was a right call, even if it did favor us.

That's it.

That is from only one angle, looking at another angle( behind) ,it shows that the player put her hand behind her before the ball hit,she was in the process of putting her hand behind her at this angle point which makes it look like her hand was away from her body.when the referee checked from all angles it clearly revealed that the player moved her hand away from the ball before it hit

These guys are bunch of losers who don't want to accept that. One thing about losers they wail when they loose.
Clearly not a penalty, the world knows that.
Honestly, they're not even good hosts. Their fans kept shining laser lights on the faces of our players.

On that note alone, they should get some sanctions.

Renowned/Award winning FIFA referee, Salima Mukansanga, was in charge of VAR last night in the WAFCON final match between host country, Morocco vs Nigeria.

Salima is not the type of referee to overlook just any act, much less in a more crucial game like the final match of the just concluded tournament.

About VAR cancelling the penalty, the center referee, no offence, did a marvelous job with the officiating and was fair with both sides, but what she had seen as handball, was in deed not handball.

Now let me state the handball rules in football.

“According to latest IFAB handball rules of FIFA, if the ball touches a player’s hand while the hand is vertical/parallel and behind the player’s trunk, it will not count as a penalty.

Another reason why that call was void by VAR, was because the Moroccan player was too close to the Nigerian player, hence it counted as a hand to ball instead of ball to hand.

Look at this photo clearly. It would only take en experienced referee to make a decision, and this was where Salima Mukansanga showed her prowess.

Thank you Salima for making the right call.
We’ve also known you to be fair and just. 🤝

Randy Waldrum > Madugu ?
I don’t support getting a new coach with a new philosophy
Better to pick someone that already knows the team
Who do you guys prefer?
Madugu or Waldrum
I think our indigenous coaches are good in the African competition
Especially after winning it 9 out of 10 times
Are they good in World championships ?
If NFF gives Madugu a contract he needs to improve so we can compete globally & not just participate

This man should please stop disgracing himself.
How would he want to agree that that ball should be awarded as a penalty.
That means he does not even understand FIFA football rules.

Oga, if a player is standing on the ground with his/her two arms outside his body and the ball touches his/her body, it is foul (penalty if inside his/her side 18yrd box). If the player's arms are placed behind his/her back and the ball still touches it, it is not foul. This is because the players has no other option to move his/her arms to avoid the ball from touching him. So the touch was totally unintentional and unavoidable.

Then, if a player is in aerial position, to maintain balance, it is allowable for his/her hands to spread up to 30 degrees outside his/her body.
Once the player's legs are off the ground, any ball that touches his/her hands withing that 30 degrees spread is not foul.

It will be foul if the player spread his/her hands too wide outside his/her body and the ball touche any of the hands. It is foul if the player raised his/her hands above his head and the ball touches his hand.

A player can't jump up and place his/her hand behind. Such a player will not maintain good aerial balance.

So the decision of the VAR referees was correct.

That was not even the main reason.

Morocco should be banned from seven WAFCON competitions for allowing their fans use laser pointers on Nigerian players cool
Almost all North African countries do that, at both Clun and country tournaments. I still don't understand why CAF has not taken any action against it.

Morocco has officially petitioned CAF over the controversial penalty decision in the WAFCON 2025 final against Nigeria. The incident, where a handball call was overturned after VAR review, sparked frustration from the Moroccan bench. Despite Morocco’s strong first half, Nigeria made a remarkable comeback to win 3-2, with coach Justine Madugu praising tactical changes and substitutions. Morocco’s loss marks the first time a host nation has lost back-to-back finals.

You don't know the technicalities of football yet. Don't display your ignorance sir.
Once a player's hand is in the same longitudinal line as their body (that is, not outstretched) a penalty can never be awarded no matter how many times the ball hits that hand. The hand in that position is assumed to be part of the body itself and thus in a natural position.

During club world Cup, I'm very much aware that there was a match Chialuba was alleged to have committed handball but after review through VAR, it was discovered it wasn't handball according to new FIFA football rule.

Middleborn:
The referee who officiated that final is an unbiased referee.

It hit the hand of the Nigerian player and appeared to be an obvious penalty, so she blew the whistle. But went to check for possible errors.

1. The distance between the Moroccan player who last hit the ball and the Nigerian player whose hand made contact with the ball is about a yard. its too close. When the distance is too close, it is assumed that there was nothing the Nigerian player could've done to avoid the contact and it could be foul-play from the Moroccan player Maybe she deliberately targeted the arm of the Nigerian player.

2. The Nigerian players arm was in a natural position.
Penalty was called here 👇

Then the referee here was obviously in error. Please go and read FIFA rules. That's what I expected you to do -check FIFA rules and regulations and use that to counter me. It'd make you sound more intelligent. Don't just put up another image from another game and use that as reference when we all know that football referees can be in error sometimes. It's like building a house on sand or air, without any solid foundation or basis. That's how your argument looks.

Thank the ref. if she awarded the penalty nothing you will do. There are many cases that is not even up to what we see there where ref. will called for penalty
