You can ask C.Ronaldo why he is earning more than a Professor in Portugal?
Though u call yourself deepsight but you are actually otherwise.
DeepSight:
Of course.

But what do you think our Professors deserve? N500k Monthly? As salary? Really?

The stevebond007 you are responding to thought it important to educate us of the fact that there are many stadia and schools in the UK.

Jesus!

Enjoy oh my broda. I loss my brain, and I no dey fight you.
I don't actually have a relation nor friend among them, even a distant one. But wining a competition like this is one time opportunity for many of them, because it is one thing for you to be a good footballer and it is another thing for you to be discovered and called up.

We should look at it as a compensation for their past unseen and unappreciated efforts and investment in their future.

I don't have anything against this gift for a number of reasons.
1. Women's football is not so lucrative as their male counterpart.
2. It's high time the country use reward systems to attract young adults into elite sport It's huge global business that can help improve the economies of youth, but also lead to sport tourism
3. It helps to reduce the tide of youth restiveness and the attendant criminal tendencies.
There are other benefits, I may not be able outline here. We should be more concerned about the level of corruption in executive and legislative appropriations, which are a thousand times more than we hear.

A civils servant earning N167k X 12 months X 40 years
Is still only about N80m richer for it but how many civil servants even get that?

Imagine using that for prize money in tech innovation competition. Dead brained govt. Is it sport alone the country "go chop"?
This move will turn more people against Tinubu than for him.

Your question should be directed to the lawmakers and executives in the first instance. This is because they need to justify their salaries too. However, have you asked yourself why the salaries of the footballers is greater than any other profession in europe?

Footballer has averagely 10 years to spend in the limelight, compared to other professionals. Get this drilled into your skull.
First of all, I hope you are of age to discuss with me , that's the most paramount thing ....

You said Salaries of footballers ......now the $5m , is it part of their salarieshuh

How much does NFA pay those players As Salarieshuh
Don't be surprised to hear that they are being owed by NFA very soon ...
How do they even protect the players welfare internationallyhuh

This attitude of our dear President was the same attitude seen when he removed fuel subsidy without first consulting relevant stakeholders and economists to checkmate the effects of what removing the subsidy can cause ...
No one just wakes up to lavish wealth he or she is not the owner...
We know $100,000 per player is ordinary to the Government but have you checked what is lacking in other sectorshuh

Go and browse how much the Government of England gave the England female team for winning the same cup then come back and tell me about a skull that is empty , but proving wise ...

Is it not better for them to be gifted than the government embezzle the money
.
So teachers, police, nurses, doctors do not deserve the gifts.. nurses are now on strike ..FCT primary school teachers have been on strike for the past 3 months nobody or government is answering them.they are ignored

If you have a personal Vedanta with Tinubu, I don't have problem with that.

A price of a plot of land in a prestigious area like Maitama in Abuja is around N600m nowadays. It is around N152m in Asokoro area too(google is there for you to confirm).

So, who actually benefits more between them and their male counterparts who won in 1994 and were given a well furnished three bedroom flat in this areas at at 1994? so, what do you mean by lavishness?

You are even justifying the action of President by your premises because nobody is given them salaries. Even is Europe, Athletes are paid higher than other professionals.

Its not everyone everyday that can become a professor, you know? Is that not success?
Yes they do and they get rewarded Relative to what they contribute. What the girls contributed was nation wide. And project us globally. Yes many will talk it down but it ultimately depend on your perspective. But it not easy to perform competitively at a local, let alone an international scale. If the professor can do more am sure he too will get national honors as well as International recognition.

And it's not like it something they get regular. Just now and proberl never.

Our current budget? - Circa £24.5 billion.

You have no clue what you are discussing.

If you had kept your brain somewhere around you, the things you would think of are -

1. State of the current economy

2. Relative impact

3. Considerations with respect to other sectors with outstandings

4. Value of the tournament in terms of income as well as PR

5. Psychological message to professionals owed (in education, health etc)

6. Reward propriety and scaling

7. Income of recipients

8. Private sector and sub national rewards for same team - loading

9. Perception of excess at a time of hardship.

But no oooooh. You would rather throw around insults before you think.

100k dollars for a competition that they have won 10 times...this regime is totally wasteful... how can u gift them 3 times more that won the competition gave them as winners, when we no be Saudi.... even the English players that won the Euros dint get this much.... why are we like this ...a country that is struggling for funds
i am very suprised if every government has been splashing 2m dollars since the inauguration of the competition, the total money spent would be 200million dollar for the 10 titles.
for a 4th world country that is underdeveloped, healthcare and education is poorly funded to be spending 2m$ on athletes for a trophy we have only failed to win on 3 occasion, is insane and wasteful.

They said Tinubu has first class in accounting.

An accountant that said statistics is not useful.

Tinubu is on same level with Monday Okpebhloho.

Maybe he wanted to pronounce 10,000 dollars and ended up pronouncing 100,000 dollars.

They don't want to correct the mistake so they decided to play along.
If the reward was $10,000 per player, I don’t think anyone would complain.

What is your point?

Give them nothing? Slash salaries of football players across the world?

A CEOs salary can pay multiple teachers a month. So what should we do about it?

When you set out in life to attract negativity your life becomes negative. Can't see anything good in anything. Even if it is good you somehow find the negative in it.

May God deliver you from chronic negativity

You could as well said the salaries of the other professionals in europe and america are equivalent to what Messi and Ronaldo are collecting.
