cr7lomo:Tinubu used that move to try to get a soft spot and more acceptability from Nigerians. And of course realizing that Nigerians have long been starved of happiness, decided to capitalize. How can you give 150 million plus a three bedroom flat just for WAFCON? What would you then give for the World Cup? Half a billion naira each? Straight up I was if the opinion that 50 million with the house each was very very okay for them. But of course people who are inherently myopic called you a hater. |

cr7lomo:100k dollars is equivalent of N160m at most nowadays. A price of a plot of land in a prestigious area like Maitama in Abuja is around N600m and it is around N152m in Asokoro area too nowadays (google is there for you to confirm). By implication, they can only buy a plot of land with this money in Abuja. So, who actually benefits more between them and their male counterparts who won in 1994 and were given a well furnished three bedroom flat in this areas as at 1994? so, what do you mean by wastefulness? |

DeepSight:It is Western influence that devalues the naira, which spoils the purchasing power of every Nigerian and causes Nigeria to struggle. you don't understand their hatred for black people globally especially those in Africa.. india annual budget is ₹48 trillion which is equal to $560 billion ( with a population over 1.4billion people while Nigeria annual budget is ₦49 trillion which is equal to $30 billion ( with a population of 200million people ).. the point is Western powers claim Nigeria's population is the reason for ₦ Naira's bad currency conversion to the dollar.. but india with a population 7 seven times Nigeria's own is not affected by the same policy that causes Nigeria's bad currency conversion to the dollar.. if you reduce india annual budget to ₹28 trillion similar to Nigeria ₦28 trillion.. india's ₹28 trillion is still equal to $326 billion... South Africa R2.59 trillion is equal to $138.5 billion due to the whyte boers that lives there. The Naira is a weapon fashioned against Nigeria and Nigerians by the Western powers. |

ddippset:Majority of the players don't live or play professional football in Nigeria and they are elite footballers so the gift is okay. Tinubu used that move to show Yoruba people how hated both him and Yoruba people are in Nigeria. |

So , Tinubu has failed once again by rewarding Nigerians who didn't soil our name by exporting narcotics , fraud and gangsterism ? Truly , these born losers are bad cats bearing a deep seated grudge and may God heal them all . Still your president till 2031 . |

lordprogress:The hunger and hardship is caused by the british not really the politicians. the answer in summary is = north had a continuous deficit balance of payment yearly until 1914.. which means all the money north including all the 19 states in the north has been getting since 1914 to 2025 has been the surplus of southern Nigeria's wealth ( which also means all the I:G:R reports are fake especially the ones from the north ). which also means if southern Nigeria's surplus can take care of 19 states in the north then if 1914 amalgamation never happened southern Nigeria would have no poverty at all .. and in 1914, Crude oil had not been found in Southern Nigeria yet.. so imagine how well that surplus improves after 1960. What most people don't realise is that since 1914 Nigeria has been surviving on southern Nigeria's money. |

codemaniacs:Completely Agree. Nonetheless our economies are not the same. Sport doesnt earn in Nigeria what it does in the UK. So no one should be telling me how the UK spends equally on education and sport and we must mimic them. |

Omonigeriarere:Go and answer the proper issues I listed for you. Why is it so important to house each one of them in "an eyebow" (your spelling) area in Abuja? By the way - the govt promised them property in addition to the $100k - so that is already separate. If you are not ready to think properly please just enjoy yourself. It appears you think that for a struggling African nation in the grips of its greatest hardship since independence, splurging in this way is top most priority. There are security issues to think of. What do your policemen (who secure LIVES DAILY) earn? How many people are mass murdered weekly in Nigeria? But for you the bling-bling of this waste is more important. Everything is about priorities. You cannot have starving children and insist on spending as though you are a billionaire. It doesnt make sense. When it comes to the suffering masses they say "make sacrifices" - but if your president wants to dash away $15 Trillion to his buddy in the name of one contract, you will close your eyes. If your President wants an expensive new Jet you will close your eyes. If your President wants 15 vacations a year in France, you will close your eyes. Continue. I wasnt talking about you personally when I said you will get the government you deserve. It is a general saying that a people get the leadership they deserve. |

DeepSight:our economies are not the same due to wyte people controlling the power of currencies around the world and ensuring that black people's currencies are low.... only black countries that have a wyte population that has been living there since 1800s have good currencies... |

Kemetian:I dont think you have the slightest understanding of patriotism, not to speak of national priorities. And by the way, no one said the girls should not be appreciated. People rightly find it a bit over the top. Mind you - more is coming from the private sector and sub national governments. |

codemaniacs:That's your opinion obviously. But my opinion remains that it is excessive for a country still battling to pay 75k minimum wage, health officials threatening strike, police threatening strike, pensioners being owned, collecting loans across the world! They were paid all their bonuses and match allowances for participating. So what Tinubu gave them is not their salary or wage for the tournament, it's a reward. We are not paying them for their services, we are offering them a token of appreciation! 1. The MON title. 2. The 3 bedroom flat. 3. 50 Million. That's generous as can be for a WAFCON. |

brain54: Nobody is holding you from setting your priorities o Our educational system is in shambles... how many people get rewarded for doing exceptionally well in that sector or in technological or even technical innovations. How many ppl education produces anything Or you think the reward falls from heaven It's not hate. The super falcons have done well and it right to appreciate their efforts. But we should also set our priorities in the right order to get a rounded balance. If others want accolades they should also do well on world stage The IGP just came out to say the pension of Nigerian Police officers that give a better part of their life to the service of the country is miserable. When they were ppl and renting their guns to thieves they didn't think about pension o This is a spending spree. It's reckless!is anyone dictating how you spend your money |

DeepSight:The struggling didn't start yesterday just because their counterpart were rewarded accordingly, and it won't end even if the players refused to take the reward. I believe your understand that. All other problems you mentioned didn't start today and won't end. So, channel your energy to politician, contractors, political advisers, ambassadors, ministers who have been enjoying more than this without any cogent results and contributions. This is not a monthly or annual competition and it might be a one time opportunity for many of the players, and if this stage passed, government don't care about their affairs anymore. We have seen how the lives of the past footballer ended in a pitiable situation; the like of Yekini, Anichebe, Babayaro, Jeremiah Okorodudu, Babayaro etc suffered general neglect and nobody cares up till date. We blame government for this most time and now that they were rewarded adequately, why blaming the government again? The hardship and economy you are talking about didn't elude this players and their families at large. |

If we had paid PROPER attention to education, you would not analyze as though there was a tadpole in residence upstairs as opposed to a brain. Enjoy. Mr. "There are schools and stadia in the UK." |

Let us appreciate the president for once. If he had not appreciated them, the same people crying foul will still throw insults on Mr. President. And for your info, you don't compare the rewarding system of sports (especially football ) to other profession. It has a unique formula for reward, and it is sad that up till now, you are ignorant about this fact. Please make your research. |
