I wasn't familiar with Bashir El-Rufai before I stumbled upon one of his interviews, and I've since admired his brilliant contributions. However, I want to use this medium to encourage the young man to continue building his political capital according to the protocol established by his Dad.

Obi cant convince obidients to accept him running as a vice. The moment he does that, the movement will break or better still look for another candidate for 2031, that's when those that are obidients because of tribe wld drop the movement and grind something else to do. Most southern will prefer to vote for Tinubu so he can complete his tenure if obi deputise Atiku, even some northern wld prefer Tinubu completes his tenure in 2031 so south will not contest with them in 2031.

He is more sellable, mobile, data driven, pragmatic, conscionable and has a presence of mind. Above all, apart from Kwankwaso, he's the only honest bloke among the likely contenders. Others are kilĺ and bury buccaneers.

Jagaban doesn't have supporters. Catching a few unstable governors and senators does not in any way translate to 'winnability' at the polls.

1. The Muslim Muslim ticket is no longer a threat to Christians anymore. Some will still vote Obi but no longer on the fear that the Muslim Muslim ticket will discriminate Christians like it was once feared.
2. Governance has improved under Tinubu. All the economic indices have pointed to positives. The Macro economy is reaping the rewards of the reforms. Before 2027 election, the results would have trickled to the Micro economy.
3. There is more security as we don't hear of bombs again like during the era of Jonathan. The current insecurity is common among men all around the world but the government is working on them. Security is not a one time thing, it is successive and continuous.
4. The definition of standard of living defers from individuals. My life is better than four years ago. I have better savings now than four years ago. I enjoy constant electricity than four years ago. It's not the same for everyone that's why I said it is relative. Every America no favor everyone wey go there, some still come back empty handed.
5. The nation has always been divided and till we come to a consensus that everyone should go their separate ways, tribalism and ethnicity will continue to divide us. Jonathan did all his best to please the North but they still showed him pepper because he is not a Northerner and they believe he wanted to take the northern turn. Ethnicity will continue to forever be an issue.

You seem unable to differentiate between governance and economy. Standard of living which you answered in 4 is what points towards economy. Governance incurs such things as transparency, accountability, respect for rule of law and democratic norms and freedoms and liberty. This govt is more opaque than ever before with humongous sums smuggled in the budget without any clear plan on what the funds are meant for. The highway of fraud used to settle the President's cronies is still there. What about Removing a state gov? Same thing he once condemned! And worst of all, trust in the judiciary is at its lowest in our national life. What about renovating a building for 39bn in a country where kids are dying due to malnutrition? I can go on and on

The deep divisions in the country came with APC and I'm happy you used Jonathan as your reference point. From 1999-2015, PDP managed Nigeria's diversity far better than the APC who first had a Buhari who was unrelentingly pro-North and now Tinubu who is afraid to displease the North and still looking to satisfy his SW base. The bottom-line is that the country has not been more divided now than since the Civil war. Just look at this platform to see for yourself how badly our diversity has been managed. It is all on APC and Tinubu has not fared better than Buhari in that regards
