Students of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Kaduna State, were seen celebrating the payment of their tuition and long-awaited upkeep allowances facilitated by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

In a video shared by presidential aide, Bayo Onanuga, via his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, students were captured dancing and chanting joyfully in what appeared to be a spontaneous celebration across campus.

“ABU students celebrating payment of their fees and receiving their upkeep from NELFUND,” Onanuga captioned the post, which has since gone viral.

This is what this government has turned the country into.

Make school fees abruptly high, then throw crumbs at them to make them celebrate. These kids don't even know that this 20k allowance they are celebrating today could have been enough to IST their full school fees just 3 years ago with change sef.

Cause ABU school fees was just N18,000 back then.

And, by the way, who celebrates a loan? Definitely one who doesn't have any plan of paying back. Ask anyone, a loan always has a sweet-bitter taste. Sweet when taking it but bitter when paying back.
