Lagos is a no man's land. Funny thing the people advocating for this land are not even from there. Go back to your own yoruba states and develop it because its looking very untidy. The only developed state in the west is lagos. The rest are pure villages, core villages.
Lagos belongs to the Yorubas. That's why an osun man or Kwara man can be governor and an Hausa or ibo can not

Please can someone help me with the name of one Yoruba business man, who permanently resides in any capital city of ANY Southeast state, who owns houses and companies in Igbo land.
Please educate me

This people simply play the politics of division, using tribal tribal sensitivities for benefit.
Go and watch the video and listen to what Charlie boy said. He explained the context in which he said no man's land, not in any way saying indigenous people do not own the place, but speaking generally about the cosmopolitan Lagos as the former capital city, current business capital with people from all over making up the place just as cities like new York, London.
But of course we know apc and it's type of politics of division, especially playing the ethnic cards.

Oga educate your self, don't be mentally lazy, go online and do the "educating" yourself as I doubt anyone has the time to educate you. You may visit youtube, ask Google or better still visit the east with camera, pen and paper.

"but speaking generally about the cosmopolitan Lagos as the former capital city"

So therefore street naming can be former too.

As much I hate people saying Lagos is no man's land, we must ask Lere how many of these kings he mentioned are true lagosians?
You all really think Yorubas cannot identify ourselves and where our hometowns are from our names? You really think Yorubas go about claiming each others states just like that. My father’s home town is in Iju Ajuwon, a bridge away from Lagos in Ifo LGA of Ogun state while my mother is saro from Isale Eko and her mother was from Epe. She is 100% Lagosian. No of her kids claim Lagos, we all are proudly from Ogun state despite out family house being a 5 mins drive from the Lagos border. Also, you can’t devide and conquer yoruba people, we have been through so much wars that today we are one. If lagosians decides to give other Yorubas political power in their state, how is that the business of an Ibo man whom they literally have nothing in common with except the passport? How does the affairs of Yoruba people concern the Ibos? Do the Yorubas also pick nose in the affairs of Iboland? I don’t think so

I will take a leep here to assume you are neither a Lagosian nor Yoruba which is why this may be alien to you. If you were you will understand how traditional stools (ipere) are ascended, it's not the same as political offices. We are logical in our dealings. We are not arrogant and not driven by emotions.

lets be honest with ourselves, i dont see any sense in this street renaming of a thing.

me use to think that those who streets are named after them usually pay fees in form of royalty which is subject to renewal after an agreed period of time.
It is just to hurt the egos of people who thinks Lagos is no man's land.
The statement would birth a lot of policies like this and laws that shouldnt be in place in the first.

I am actually yet to understand why some people are crying about the Lagos street rennaming.

Before the street was named after Charly boy, which name is it bearing before?

Abeg, enough of this victims mentality jare
No official named the Bus stop, not street, after Charly Boy.

It was named by the common people. By bus conductors, drivers, Keke riders, Agberos and area boys. Bus stops are named after landmarks located at or near the bus stop for easy recognition. Examples are Ikeja "Under bridge" and Agege "Pen cinema" The LG later adopted those names as official names. Same should have been applied to "Charly Boy Bus stop"

On the topic: These Yorubas from Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, and Ekiti are just oppressing the indigenous Lagosians. They have totally subdued them under the guise of all being Yorubas. Meanwhile an Ondo man will not be made anything in Osun or Oyo. He will not even be allowed to contest for any post. All Lagosians will rise up in the near future to checkmate these Yoruba immigrants. That "State of origin" clause must be applied to them.

What street?
This is how you minions of APC sit on your empty stomach to discuss what you know nothing about.

Charlie Boy is not a street.
It's a neighbourhood and bus stop that was named after Charlie Boy by the people of Gbagada and Bariga due to Charlie Boy living there and fighting for the rights of Okada people. The same people named Charlie Boy Area Fada and that busstop and neighbourhood was known as Charlie Boy for years as a free gift from the people to Charles Oputa!

Hmm so some people have now made themselves the ethnicity gatekeepers of Lagos to check Yoruba Lagosians indigeneship/state of origin status ..and they are not even Yoruba themselves. This is highly offensive to the Yoruba Commonwealth ethos which sees all of Yorubaland as one people with free movement and settlement within Yorubaland..It is also a primitive attempt to knock Yoruba heads together.. very dangerous actions breed reactions.

And they're telling you gently that that's not how it's done here and you want to rudely dictate to them that it's otherwise. Continue

The one who calls himself Oba of Lagos is from Ibadan.

To those of you saying he’s Omoluabi, he’s from the Southwest.

I will only accept your claims when Ifa or the oracles pick an Ijebu man to become Alaafin of Oyo or Ooni of Ife over the indigenous people.
Ifa can pick an Ijebu man as the Ooni because Ijebu people are from Ile Ife, we even have a part of Ijebu called Ijebu Ife, na still one blood.

If Igbo mistakenly take over Lagos, be ready for street changes and towns to Igbo names and new traditional titles
It's easier for a malam from sokoto to take over Enugu rhan for Igbo to take over lagos. Dey won die? Gradually they are making lagos inhabitable for themselves but they don't know the impact yet. Yorubas could be calm but very calculative. Try them at your own peril. A very hostile people left their region and after over 8 hours drive then begin to call another region no man's land. Isn't that why Ghanians were angry?

😂😂😂who leaves a thriving and prosperous region for a barren and hostile ipob infested region to go and sit at home every Monday? Lagos and Sw region is the economic powerhouse of the country which is the reason why you all deserted your region for Lagos and Yorubaland, the trend of migration from east to west as already proven that fact and its just common sense, so bikonu rest….btw proudly Lagos grin

The APC has only succeeded in using divisive strategies to make Nigerians more divided.

Today, Nigerians amplify what makes them them different than what makes them united.

The present crop of Nigerian politicians should be sank in the red sea of Nigerian politics. They are worthless.

Imagine characters like this Lere guy who's not even qualified to be in any public space because of his crude vituperations..

Imagine a man like Wike who seems always out of touch with his neural side..

Oh Lord, how did I become a Nigerian? It hurts..
