well Cain was the first murderer and lied about knowing where his brother was, there was sin in him and right he was going to rule or Lord over sin or sin over him. He was cast out from God's presence 🤔

The devil took man's eternal life in the beginning, hence killed every human both living and unborn with that single strike. That's the death God warned man about if he ate of that forbidden tree, because man was not meant to die at all but live forever. Genesis 2:17

So that's how the devil became a murderer from the beginning. He took man's eternal life.

I already cited God's saying to man in the beginning that on the day he eats the forbidden fruit he shall surely die, which means man surely died on that day (in the beginning) after he ate that fruit. Genesis 2:7

However the death man died on that day wasn't physical but spiritual (loss of his eternal life), hence why man continued to live physically beyond that day only to later die to confirm the loss of his eternal life.

I really don't know what the author of that gospel meant by that.
The Jews don't have the idea of a devil as part of their theology. It is a Christian construct.

Satan on the other side means "Adversary". Which could be anybody or anything. There is no being called Satan.

In Judaism, God is both responsible for good and evil.
