Over 50% of Nigerian thesis topics still start like this:

šŸ” ā€œThe Effect of ABC on XYZā€¦ā€

As a thesis support specialist, I see postgraduate titles like this all the time.

That is not research. That is recycling.

We keep circling the same old topics, using the same tools, asking the same questions, yet hoping for ā€œoriginality marksā€ in a system that avoids real creativity.

šŸ’” So what is stopping us from thinking beyond the ordinary?

Here are future-forward thesis ideas that spark attention instantly:

šŸŽ“ ā€œDigital Hustles and Academic Performance: A Study of Nigerian TikTok Influencers in Uniā€
(Yes: think of Funnybros, Broda Shaggi, Mr Macaroni. Not every study must be about SMEs and profitability.)

šŸŒ ā€œAfrobeats as a Tool for Pan-African Diplomacy: A Cultural Perspectiveā€
(Burna Boy. Wizkid. Yemi Alade. Originality meets national pride and global value.)

šŸš€ Research should reflect our time, not just our textbooks.

We need more of a survey research design rather than experimental. It gives a first hand information from the field.

You are right about the value of survey research, especially in contexts like Nigeria, where access to experimental settings is limited.

Finally somebody says it.
Also I feel thesis should solve real-life problems thus be a potential revenue generator and also scalable.
God help us in this country

Thank you for the response! I would love to help. I currently offer focused 1:1 sessions for research brainstorming and topic development. Feel free to DM me if you would like to book a quick consultation; we can make that 15 minutes count.

Exactly! You have nailed it. A well-thought-out thesis should go beyond just earning marks; it should aim to solve real-life problems, as you rightly pointed out. It should also inspire innovation and open doors to revenue or further research funding.
We need to shift from ā€˜compliance writing’ to ā€˜impact-driven research’.
Thanks for engaging; these are the conversations that matter.
