https://www.rt.com/russia/622413-oreshnik-no-defense/ Neither Ukraine nor its Western backers have any means to counter Russia’s newly deployed intermediate-range Oreshnik missile, Michael Maloof, a former senior Pentagon security analyst, told RT in an interview on Friday. Maloof noted that the Oreshnik could “easily shift the balance of power overwhelmingly in favor” of Russia in any conflict, including the ongoing hostilities with Ukraine. “Having a hypersonic [missile] for which there’s no defense currently… is astonishing. It absolutely alters that balance of power dramatically, for which the Ukrainians have no defense,” he said. He noted that while the US is working to adapt missile defense systems such as THAAD to counter hypersonic threats, these programs remain under development. “There’s no operational ability at this point to deal with a hypersonic missile,” Maloof said, adding that the Oreshnik could reach its targets within mere minutes. Hypersonic missiles are the future and the west is generations behind Russia. USA MIC prefers big contracts like magic planes and big floating bath tubs. They don’t like r&d in missiles development that’s why Iran has hypersonic missiles while USA doesn’t. Stealth has been shoot down, stealth has been detected and will always be detected with the right radar, I can’t believe anyone is talking about next gen magic planes after seeing oreshnik. |

Iran must completely get rid of the Mossad spy network operating inside Iran. That's where the real problem lies. They could disable and neutralize these air defense systems from within like they did Iran's missile launchers. |

Kingsnairaland:Ok I get you, but you don’t need four S400 at the four cardinal points. You can place all of them in one direction to protect important things. |

LordAdam16:Thanks for responding on my behalf. Wanted to respond and clarify what I meant but then I noticed you already did. Perhaps he didn't notice when we adopted the phrase enriched uranium on this thread to connote anything and everything delivered by Russia to Iran in terms of weapons. |
| Re: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by LordAdam16: 1:23am On Aug 03, 2025 |
Mikasaobi:There is a science to it. The S400 has three gradations. An S400 system has eight battalions. A battalion has 7 or 8 launchers. India bought 5 systems. In peace time, Crimea alone had 4 battalions. It is critical to know exactly what Russia delivered. A single unit, a battalion, or a system. Crimea is heavily defended because when Ukraine takes out a radar, launcher, power unit, or whatever component of an S400 unit, there is redundancy from other launchers and battalions as well as prompt replacement of the damaged component(s). Ideally, Iran would have several battalions for each military district, mirroring Russian deployment patterns. Western Iran will have the highest count. Tehran proper would have a dedicated battery. But they're conducting emergency preparations. Precisely why I opined that they need density from whatever they can procure. They don't have the luxury of time. China has at least 200 HQ-9 batteries. China has already delivered an improved HQ-9B to Egypt. The Israelis are reporting that talks are at an advanced stage for Chinese jets and ADs. Deliveries may have commenced, as these reports are a lagging indicator, but I'm uncertain that the Persians will be able to keep it under wraps (a secret) especially if they obtain multiple batteries. As Writer submitted, Iran needs better OpSec. The 12D war made it seem like Iran was porous. It wasn't at the onset. It had a tightly integrated blanket with a few deficiencies they were on track to close by end of the year. Israel's success was in infiltrating Iran, identifying locations of the nodes, and deploying agents to take them out with ATGMs and drones. They also had to complement this with a system-wide hack of ADs in the Western and Central military districts. Launchers are out in remote locations. The range of Israeli Spike ATGMs is up to 5KM. Essentially, you have to secure a radius of up to 7KM for safety (153 square kilometers). Around every non-overlapping installation. Acquisition is top priority. But you must protect them particularly from threats they're not designed to counteract. Again, taken together, these are the reasons why the Israelis want another go as soon as this month. Iran will steadily become a fortress the longer they wait. A large and integrated deployment of Russian + Chinese + Iranian homegrown systems is nightmare fuel for any pilot. -Lord |

WriteerNg:No be by urge, it is whether the government has done enough for the citizens to have a strong purchasing power. Only one country is dishing out tariffs and there is global economic instability. According to Bloomberg, world leaders have flew a combined over 100,000 hours to arrange a meeting with Trump in order to get trade deals. Yet, some folks who managed a D7 in their economics want us to believe all those leaders do not know what they are doing. |

Mikasaobi:Bolton: Trump could tweet on national security at any hour. I hope someone at the Pentagon explains the nuclear force posture to him. Our ballistic subs ensure second-strike capability, but could also be used in a first strike — the Kremlin could misread that. But don't be afraid, Mr. Bolton, Putin knows very well that the deployment of those submarines is just to entertain the world. Putin knows that it means nothing!!! |

LordAdam16:Make he no fear ke Baba no won die ![]() “Russia does not carry out preemptive strikes. We only retaliate when we are certain that an attack on Russian territory is imminent. In this scenario, we are essentially waiting for someone to use nuclear weapons against us first. But the aggressor must understand that retaliation is inevitable—that they will be annihilated. And while we, like martyrs, will ascend to heaven, they will simply perish—without even a chance to repent” - President Putin. |

WritterNg:They purchase Russian oil for their consumption, even Oman said that they will start importing Russian oil, due to demand. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are importing discounted Russian oil, both for consumption and refining, and exporting their oil at market prices to make a profit. Russian oil is relatively inexpensive to produce and export, unlike that in the Gulf nations, which is cheap to produce but expensive to export. |
