There's no way the guest's won't be given food and drinks (as take-aways) as they leave the venue of the wedding. The couple are probably just trying to save costs on the rental of an events hall. This isn't the FIRST time I've seen such minimalist kind of wedding ceremony online in the last 5-6 years.

Those who can afford a reception venue can do so, BUT it's totally unwise to embark on that if you don't have the means just to fit into societal expectations. Period.

It's becoming disgusting that we are always hosting a food-and-drink after party to feed the community...both during wedding, child dedication, and even burials...like who send you?

These guys saved a lot of lives by not organising a wedding reception.

My wedding was really organized without reception.. After the church service people where in both exit and entrance of the church give those going out packages that's take away.

I concur with you. Even if you don't get her pregnant. You can still Insist on no reception. If she disagree, let her use her money to find the reception.

My immediate younger brother did the same thing during his wedding in Lagos last year. So it's no big deal. The economy is not smiling at most Nigerians. Many deeper life weddings are like that.

Nigeria idlelessness is getting extremely annoying because I don't know what is outrage in someone saying I don't want reception after the wedding.
