Why the invitation if no reception

I love the trend and it might change the culture.

We neees to encourage this and extend it to burial too.

Many people have been doing it for years not even of recent. People will still eat if they want there is food just not the normal event in the reception venue that is not planned for. It's unnecessary. I can't even go and be dancing for people that I'm feeding claiming I am happy. I no even want to dance

It's not because of money or insecurity. It's because the brides father vehemently refused any funfare and gathering of any sort termed reception.
He accepted because funny enough, we discussed the possibility of not sharing food even with close friends even before the fathers in-law position. His aunty who's his mother really wants this to go on for him.
The groom is my friend, my friend turned brother. His name is anoda mata on Instagram and Facebook, he is a content creator and a professional photographer.

If not for status and maybe funfare , there's almost no benefit of reception because people hardly bring gifts these days, just to come and eat. People that will support your wedding will mostly do so before that day.

Let's accept it that way. If only our other gender will accept it that way though

Nice one there. After all 99% of the attendees are coming for the food and later would drop well packed worthless gifts 🎁. This is a union whose foundation is solidly built on mutual understanding. Wedding for the intending couple used to be a money making and gifts accumulation events, but now it's a financial debit sinkhole if you are not from affluent family.

Normal happenings in my area.

I've attended over 4 weddings that reception was not held.

On my wedding nothing like EVE abi bridal shower, nothing like reception, just come to church, after service everybody go go rest for house

Was wondering how to tell my girlfriend about no reception thing because I know ladies likes it.
I decided to engage her in a discussion and by herself, she said she hate reception idea. That she don't know for me but as for her, after church everyone should go home and rest.

It's an insult to the guests invited... Just do your thing privately and move on. You don't need to invite people to insult them.

They know why they're saying hungry guests shouldn't expect to be received with food at any point in time 😂, if they're trying to cut costs and avoid stress, then they have done good, what matters most is the actual purpose for which people will be gathered, witnessing the ceremony, God bless the couple who refuse to follow the trend of financially limping persons who empty bank accounts to impress other fellow struggling folks.

It's not must that there must be a reception who like to come can come with their own food

Nice one. I did a similar thing.Food packs were given to guests immediately after the wedding in the church.There was nothing like reception.

No big deal. I didn't do reception as I do not believe in the fanfare and I'm sure many did the same before me and many have done it after me.

This is not the first time. The food and drinks for entertaining the guests will be giving to them immediately after the service and everyone will find their way home.

My pastor didn't print any single I.V. He had no reception,but food packs were given to guests immediately after his wedding in the Mega Regional Overseer's office.

People go home after service every Sunday, but tell them go home after a wedding service and they start grumbling.

I like simple, small but quality weddings not all the crowd and noise. If u have a small wedding the reception will also be reasonable and easy to manage..
