If Anybody Knows VDM, Show Him This As This Is For Him by Infotubia9ja(op): 6:58pm On Aug 03, 2025
So I was with a friend the other day we were having a get together dinner he is from China but he works in the IT department for the said whatsapp company he lives in Houston texas. as one of their tech experts and he knew I was nigerian and he started a discussion this topic was about VDM claims that he paid a hacker to hack whatsapp to get some hidden deleted messages for the sum of 20 million.
He just laughed and said VDM is falsely saying lies which are not fact that no such thing happened.

But he said this: he said the attention of this topic in particular has been brought up to the human resources manager and their IT department, and they are doing everything legally.
Now this is what he had to say.

When a person makes a public claim about hacking a platform like WhatsApp without proof, and the company decides to take legal action, in this case he said whatsapp will be carrying out legal charges soon and will be inviting VDM to court very soon he said, WhatsApp would likely pursue a civil lawsuit against the said VDM.
The specific legal actions would depend on the jurisdiction, but they would typically center on a few key areas as he said:

1. Defamation
The most immediate and likely legal claim would be for defamation. Defamation is a false statement of fact that harms a person's or, in this case, a company's reputation. WhatsApp could argue that the individual's false claim of a hack:

Damaged its reputation: A claim of a successful hack.

Caused financial harm: The company could allege that the false claim led to a loss of user base, a decline in its stock price, or increased costs associated with reassuring the public and partners about the platform's security.
To win a defamation lawsuit, WhatsApp would have to prove that the statement was false, was made publicly, and caused them actual harm. Since the individual made the claim "with no proof," it would be easier for WhatsApp to establish the falsity of the statement.

2. False Light
WhatsApp might also consider a "false light" claim, which is a type of invasion of privacy. While similar to defamation, this claim focuses on the emotional distress and embarrassment caused by a public portrayal that is highly offensive and misleading, even if not technically false. In this scenario, WhatsApp could argue that the individual's claim placed the company in a "false light" by making it appear as though its security was compromised when it was not.

3. Tortious Interference with Business Relations
If the false claim led to a loss of business (e.g., a business partner terminating a contract or a potential client choosing not to work with WhatsApp), the company could sue for tortious interference. This claim would allege that the individual's false statement intentionally and maliciously interfered with WhatsApp's economic relationships, causing them financial loss.
The Legal Process
If WhatsApp decides to sue, the legal process would likely involve:

Filing a complaint: WhatsApp's lawyers would file a civil complaint in court, outlining the claims and the damages they are
The case could be settled out of court, or it could proceed to trial. WhatsApp might be interested in a quick settlement that includes a public retraction from the individual and an agreement to not make similar claims in the future. If it goes to trial, a court would ultimately decide whether the individual is liable and what damages, if any, should be awarded.

He also said that if eventually, vdm is able to provide his hacker, with solid proof, then whatsapp will be giving that hacker a full time employment with many benefits
At this time, they are in talk with their lawyers and they will be reaching out to vdm soon.
So please if anybody knows VDM personally, tell him I said he sould start talking to his lawyer with his evidence because its about to be a whole new international showdown.

I will take it that you did not watch VDM video on this, he never stated that he paid someone to hack WhatsApp, he stated that he paid someone N20m for it.

I doubt your report, because a company as WhatsApps would never make such a move, when the offense they are alleging never occurred and there is no proof on the internet to support the conclusion that VDM said he paid someone to hack WhatsApp.

I first heard about the hacking from some people oppose to VDM mis-quoting what he said....google and watch that video yourself.

You stated that, this person told you that...."...VDM claims that he paid a hacker to hack whatsapp to get some hidden deleted messages..."

Since VDM never mentioned anything about hacking, I know that a reputable person claiming to be from WhatsApp would not level such charges against VDM and then proceed to be threatening an investigation and lawsuit over a none existing comment.

You definitely made all these up and you were deceived by someone claiming to be from WhatsApp. More Human Resource Manager or Department does not get involved in hacking investigations, their terms of reference is strictly about the Company employees or employees to-be.

WhatsApp does not even know about VDM here in Nigeria and they have never filed a defamation case against a single sole, not even in the USA despite the rampant rumors people carry about them in the USA....and they will not start it with someone in Nigeria who never stated what being alleged.

Plus WhatsApp's HQ is in California, and they do not any office in Texas where this 'Tech Expert' who 'works for WhatsApp' lives.

I am not waiting to see anything, because nothing will come out of this....this is a mere internet rumor that you have just started....and ironically, you are the one defaming WhatsApp by alleging in your post what they never said.

Thank you for conceding that, this your post is made-up or you, and/or your friend were deceived by this random person claiming to be a 'Tech Expert' who lives in Houston, TX and working for WhatsApp; not withstanding the fact that, WhatsApp have no single office in the whole of Texas.

No employee of WhatsApp or any reputable company in the USA will come and start disclosing to others about internal investigative matters taking place within the company about which the company has not made any public pronouncement.

Lastly, employees at Tech companies in the USA including those that work for WhatsApp are generally mandated to sign an NDA - aka Non Disclosure Agreement, which is a confidentiality agreement. Therefore none would be that stupid to put their career and means of livelihood in jeopardy by disclosing such matter (if it were to exist) to a third party more-so at a public place like a Restaurant as you have stated. Therefore your tales by moonlight never happened.
