SmartPolician:if its not a misplaced priority One is clear .... it is an over overbloated appropriation 712 billion to renovate what exactly The problem is never about "Renovating" the bone of contention is the overbloated appropriation and misallocation that follow this project ... they are about to loot extremely again thats the issue The country is broke according to the govt yet we keep seeing extravagant spending from the govt .... thats the misplaced priority |

What was the upgrade like? Was it this comprehensive? Did it include construction of new roads and a flyover bridge? Did include bringing down the entire roofing system and all that the minister explained ![]() princeade86: |

Ofunaofu:So just like Peter Obi, the whole ADC gang are full of people with low ideas. Instead of asking for the design of the airport they are mentioning public university upgrades. Universities are now getting more funding through nelfund loan, yes not enough but for an economy to even grow you need a proper airport to enhance businesses. I'm tired of these dumb and useless opposition. They think like Obi too much. No big bold ideas at all just stupid talks. Claiming not all Nigerians have business at the airport is very stupid and insane, is it all Nigerians that also studied in public universities..?? |

Ikaeniyan0:They (apc) and other wicked beings positioned as rulers of this land are robbing Nigerians like real robbers. Here you are, not understanding that agulu that you keep mentioning is not the problem but your failure to see your real enemy. The same airport buhari spent huge amount on, is now being rebudget for another round of looting. They couldn't spend 700billion on education nation wide, but on one airport. |

This is exactly why these recycled old politicians should be shut out of government forever. 1: we now know why the airport was not maintained during their period and why there was no infrastructure during their reign. we also know going by what they are saying they won’t invest in infrastructure. 2: how many times do you want approval. The parliament has already approved the renewed hope infrastructure fund. The airport is coming out of the renewed hope infrastructure fund. I know he is happy he has a new job anfter being ignored by Saraki and Abdulrahman but let ignorance not kill Mr Bolaji Abdulahi. |

SmartPolician:I agree with ADC on this. The new terminal 2 is sufficient and under utilised. Several times I have flown from there, how many planes to you see on ground, either about to board or deboard passengers? In most cases, the gates are empty. Though that sometimes is because the larger places have to still use the old E and D wings of T1. But all that should be done is whatever is necessary to get the Terminal 2 gates to accept wide body planes and we will be fine for now.

Kukutente23:Stop this rubbish. Are these children not from States? Does these states not have governors? What are these governors doing? That's the question we should be asking. |
| Re: ₦712 Billion Lagos Airport Upgrade Misplaced Priority — ADC by Kukutente23: 8:38am On Aug 04, 2025 |
Enice:You need to be properly guided You guys quickly run to the states when the govt is called out The MSF that released the report is not sponsored by state govs of other countries but federal govts of those countries. If their citizens and govts think like you, those kids will be long dead. Food security is a primary responsibility of the FG. It is an integral part of national security. The constitution does not make any distinction when it says the security and welfare of people shall be the primary duty of GOVERNMENT Stop making excuses for failed leaders |

Image123:Herod. The poor deserve to be taken as a priority as responsible govts do all over the world. Even the MSF that's taking care of these poor kids in your doormat are sponsored by govts from other parts of the world. I'm sure you're among the crowd crying about starvation in Gaza every other day. When are you going to tell Hamas to reconstruct Gaza airport since things can be done together or this your homily only works for Nigeria your fatherland where it is OK for kids to starve to death in our homes as long as we look good to outsiders? Have a soul Have some shame!! |
| Re: ₦712 Billion Lagos Airport Upgrade Misplaced Priority — ADC by Enice(m): 8:50am On Aug 04, 2025 |
Kukutente23:Like I said earlier, stop this rubbish. Any international report will refer to Nigeria as a country. That doesn't mean it's the FG that's responsible. What is the state governor doing? Primary health care, primary and secondary education, Child care are all state responsibility. |

Kukutente23:The pictures you have been seeing are from the local wing. You obviously have never been to the airport. Una go dey jump night bus still dey put mouth for airport matter. The same way ADC claims that Buhari renovation the International wing as it local travelers use international wing. They know people like you exist that is why they throw out things like this. |

I remember when someone posted the devastating condition of the airport, someone made a comment that that they should make a case out of it because the government will use it as an opportunity to syphon money.....I knw this will eventually...more than half a trillion to rehabilitate an existing airport...how much they won use build another one sef 😂😆 |

This Bolaji Abdulahi is an ignorant. Hadi Sirika, the past minister of aviation is one of ADC member, why can he ask him how much he spent in repeating the airport that has turned to eyesore today. The same man that repainted airplane and from Ethiopia and named it Nigeria Air. I wonder which Nigeria they want to rescue. |

theredaddy:Health and education are important but they can and are and have been funded to some degree by money from that airport over the years What is lacking is missing is transparency The airport needs to be managed in a sustainable way over the years there has been little information about the revenue but when it is time to invest there is noise We don't hear the same thing if it is LNG or oil investment Are those oil investments more profitable than this airport Is NNPC more profitable or the refineries AS A BUSINESSES THAT AIRPORT CAN BE AT PAR WITH DANGOTE REFINERY In terms of value and revenue That is the appropriate comparison not health and education because this is just another business like a refinery power plant sea port or oil field It is clear you do not grasp the issues It is not about beauty. AT ALL It is about standards and functionality I.e. fitness for purpose There are international inspection standards especially for security in the 21st century The airport is not just the terminal More important are the runways and taxi infrastructure what is the current capacity in terms of runway and air traffic control How many aircraft can fly in and out every hour for example at Heathrow it is 1.33 aircraft every minute that is down to specific traffic control infrastructure not beauty of the terminal as well as the runway and taxi infrastructure |

Kukutente23:Like i clearly said but you refuse to READ. The two can be done together. Don't be allergic to good news. Answer simple questions. (a) When is there ever going to be a right time for anything in your eyes? (b)How much revenue does mmia generate? (c) Do you think at all or just made up to oppose everything? The Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund is for INFRASTRUCTURE. There are ministries and bodies for catering for poor people, malnutrition and building hospitals.Ministry for humanitarian affairs budgeted ₦130 billion as a general intervention fund across poverty and humanitarian programs, for just this year alone. The Ministry of Health’s 2024 approved capital budget was ₦233.66 billion, but only ₦26.55 billion (15%) was ever released, due to cash flow constraints and policy procedures. The RHIDF aims to avoid such logjam that has bedevilled the country for DECADES. MMIA was built in 1979, it wasn't built to accomodate what it takes today. Planned for about 200,000 annual passengers, today it handles millions, far beyond original design and severely outdated if you've been there before. In this current plan, there will be a Complete structural overhaul of Terminal 1, expansion of Terminal 2, including a new apron, aircraft parking, access bridges and new ring roads, including enhanced security infrastructure. You have a fundamental right not to use it when it is completed. According to data, total revenue generation for 2024: Murtala Muhammed International Airport (Lagos) → Generated ₦256.067 billion (67% of total) Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (Abuja) → Generated ₦81.220 billion (21.3%) Mallam Aminu Kano Int’l Airport (Kano) → Generated ₦20.241 billion (5.3%) Port Harcourt International Airport → Generated ₦10.764 billion (2.8%) |

COMPAQ:Airport is not about terminal alone it is the runways and taxi space for aircraft that determine its capacity e.g every 45 seconds an aircraft takes off at Heathrow that is 1300 a day That is not how Heathrow started they grew into it It needs infrastructure that passengers do not see at the terminals Anyone talking about terminal has little understanding That airport has a lot of land and an original masterplan That new Buhari terminal should not be at that location and it violates the original masterplan The land at that airport is huge and they now need to grow into that land with more runways taxi routes and modern air traffic control infrastructure. Ideally that airport should have its own power source and there should be more than one access road What I see happening is that if they do not concession the Lekki Airport will become the main airport in Lagos state especially for those on the Island and other states close to the coastal road |

Image123:What you have here is a conjecture. The two CAN be done together is different from the two ARE being tackled together All over the world, human emergencies especially involving children usually take the top of the pyramid except of course in black hearts of black Africans who think looking good to visitors has same importance as saving dying kidds. Like I said, same hypocrites are on the internet day and night wailing about Gaza. The right time to do anything is when it ought to be done. You mean generating revenue is more important than saving the lives of 400k kids? This is alarming I am a thinking rational, human who realises that human life is sacred, more sacred than buildings and ports. Are you? |
