Can anyone explain why my vehicle licence renewal had not been recognised in the FRSC online system since 2017.
Im currently living in Abuja with Lagos registered plate number. This car has annually been undergoing vehicle licence and road worthy test in Abuja.
I just renewed my car papers July 10 2025 and I saw this, this Nigeria nawa o, See the attached for the shock of my life. Could this be that Abuja licence renewal does not recognise Lagos plate number and the system accepts my money for fraudulent service since their system seem not unified?

What can I do? I have registered and annually been paying CMR NPF and no red flag

You are wasting your money doing renewal outside Lagos.
If that car enters Lagos you will be billed.
Go to Payvis to check it out.

Lagos is the only state that prints its own number plates.
You car registration is under Lagos state.
My guy lives in Ogun state he was billed as soon as he drove into Lagos.

That is the issue right there, the second picture, on their database your plate by number isn't assigned to your vehicle, I just found out I have the same issue, my papers expire this month, I plan to go to their office by then, I don't want to jump to the conclusion that someone is getting the monies I've been paying while I have stamped receipts, if you have your receipts then you can prove it.

You must not drive down, pls go with your footwagen while I go with mine, questions must be asked with my photocopy papers make dem no go seize d originals

2. The people that have been collecting money from you in Abuja to renew Lagos number for you have been scamming you.

Lagos and Abuja do not share the same system. Either you travel down to Lagos to do your registration or you send the papers to your license officer in Lagos to renew and way bill to you in Abuja.

The problem now is that for you to do the renewal, you will pay all the arrears from 2017 to date.

They asked me to pay 3 years arrears when they discovered that the person I was giving money to renew my papers was busy doing a fake one for me

I don’t no of Lagos but each time I do a renewal it always start from the date it was issue and not the old date.

Our people are really terrible in the part of this world imagine, it doesn't cost anyone kobo to have told me this truth even after I have paid. I have bought this car actually from Abuja owner who relocated from Lagos since 2017

But I thought autoreg is federal?

Like mine, got the car from Lagos user 4yrs ago with Lagos plate number, I've renewed 4 times, 2 with Enugu licence office and 2 with Abia licence office, all are valid

Maybe the number plate was not registered in Lagos state, their platform is different

Check the documents on lagvis and you will be surprised.
Like I said, Lagos prints its own plate numbers and does its own drivers license.

Lagos State system doesn't have room for that..
You'll renew up to the current year regardless of the condition or location of the car.

My car left Lagos to the east on the 1st week of June same year and has never left South East, so where dem catch me abeg?? 😁😁😁

The Abuja directorate of vehicle inspection operate an independent database different from autoreg hence ur vehicle renewal does not reflect on the general autoreg platform which is used by most South West state. E.g Lagos,Ogun, Oyo, and Osun.

Download Abuja inspector app and you will be able to verify if ur vehicle documents are valid.
