Stop spreading falsehood. Goodluck Jonathan built that new terminal. When Buhari and his band of liars came in, they refused to commission it for many months so that credit will not go to GEJ. Google search can help you with facts. Maxymilliano: |

SalamRushdie:See distortion and manipulation of facts right in front of our eyes. Did Keyamo say this is going to be just a renovation? "According to him, the facility will be stripped down to its structural carcass, including removal of the roof, before being redesigned and rebuilt to meet modern international standards. The work will affect both Wings D and E of the terminal." Does this sound like a mere renovation to you? Look at the old control tower. Does it look like a safe place to control anything? |

koning:An electrician in turkey paid $45 per hour?I responded to somebody who said an airport can't cost more than $1.5b to construct with an example of Turkey. The salaries in turkey is very low. Most people working in Turkey with university degree don't earn more than $500 per month. That $11billion Airport in Turkey, can't cost below $25billion in the US. |

SalamRushdie:Yes, what about it? Something is wrong when smaller west African countries have better international airports than Nigeria. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRDRNZGPxkg?si=28xeFWK6vrH2dCAf This is Dakar airport in Senegal. I think some people just like Nigeria to be prostrate and backward. |

SalamRushdie:Since i replied your post yesterday,i have not had time to check nairaland and do a research on changi airport.I just ran a check and just realized that either you are mischievous or ignorant. The $1.5b was when the airport was opened in 1981.the recent terminal 4 opened in 2017 at that airport cost about $1b to construct. |

panpan:Excellent question that is how everything is run in Nigeria Refineries ports airports NNPC etc They take all the money to Abuja and share it Most of it going to the North They forget about maintenance until it almost breaks down Remember the roads around the ports in Lagos for years abandoned Sane thing with the refineries That airport can generate as much as Dangote refinery with the right strategy |

SalamRushdie:Oga u said the whole airport was built with $1.5b u never said it was one terminal u were referring to.According to your admission,if one terminal cost $1.5b in Singapore, what is wrong in using $450m to build new terminal and expansion of terminal terminal 2 in Nigeria? |

| Re: Why We Are Spending ₦712 Billion To Renovate Lagos Airport — Keyamo by koning: 5:34pm On Aug 04, 2025 |
ElSudani:Whether to rebuild, refurbish or renovate, it should not cost a whooping N712bn. 95% of the building materials will be sourced locally. Construction workers will be Nigerians too. N300bn max can do the job. To make matters worse, the next minister of aviation after Keyamo may decide to renovate again. These people are just shameless, greedy thieves without an iota of conscience. How many billions of Naira can one finish in one lifetime?. |

Bro, it wasn't the runway. Goodluck Jonathan conceived and commenced construction of the new terminal at MMIA. I have pictures of it in my old phone. By the time Buhari came in the structural, mechanical, HVAC and electricals were completed. Landscaping was already in progress. It was just furnishings that was remaining. Some private VIP and private planes were already using part of it but it wasn't opened to commercial flights. Apart from Buhari famed slowness in taking decisions, the Buhari gove decided to stop work on all projects initiated by GEJ so that they will not eat thier words with all the lies they peddled against him to win election in 2015. Grok or Gemini query will give you the truth. Jorussia:

ElSudani:Indeed, your reply to that guy is succinct. The green-eyed monster (envy) laced with bigotry is at play here with some of these insidious posters. The Lagos International Airport [T isn't a "renovation" or refurbishment as the irresponsible disinformation in the title of this thread indicates, it's actually a total "REBUILDING" of the MMIA as CLEARLY stated by Festus Keyamo, SAN, right BELOW in the video interview he had with Seun Okinbaloye on August 3, 2025.
