Are you normal? Is it public graduates that are supposed to be jobless? Even Harvard grads are looking for job in America.
unemployment in America is single digit unlike in Nigeria here. Millions of unemployed graduates in Nigeria. Stop comparing America to Nigeria.

exactly. Even been a content creators too isn't easy at all. Every damn thing is highly difficult and very challenging. You have to get huge money in delving into content creation too. Knowing editing and other features that works in that sector.

There must be public disclosure model for accountability in the higher education system. School departments must be required by law to publish publicly, their rate of graduate and the rate employed graduates from all departments after one year of graduation. .

Doing this will enable parents and their wards to make informed decisions regarding seeking admission and investing in such system.

Also, this statistic is needed as a matter of national security. Young adults cannot be left to waste away after graduation, while the schools smile to the bank. This is not how a society functions or progresses.
The government must be proactively involved in tackling this issue because a country with a large unemployed population would be deficient socially and economically.

You have a foundational problem. The course is not useless. You are the one who used the course to render yourself useless at the moment. Many that studied Political Science are gainfully employed. Even some people that studied Medicine or Nursing are jobless. To show that the problem is with you and not with the course, you said you don't even know where your certificate is.

But there is still hope because you are still alive and very young.
how many graduates of political science have Nigerians universities produced?

how many of these graduates are "gainfully employed"?

the people that you say studied medicine and nursing that are jobless, is it also their fault that they are jobless?

I think we need to change the curriculum of our education, after secondary school we need to make it compulsory for all students to learn an income producing skill for at least a year, let certificate of completion be based on how many clients they are able to service. Also these certificate should be a prerequisite for admission to tertiary institutions.

This is why I maintained that every young man and woman out there should learn the secret behind igbos apprenticeship systems.

U may choose to condemn it,hate it or say all manners of things about it,it is still working any day, anytime and in any season.

That 10million school fees should have been used to buy u a shop say 2million four years ago,and the remaining balance used for equipping ur shop and after 10yrs u will thank ur father or whomever must have set u.

Financial planning/financial education should be taught to our children as this is the only way they can
navigate the Nigerian rough economic terrain and not the usual employment.
Keep quiet
With una usual empty chest beating
Is it only Igbos that have apprenticeship system?
Is it only Igbos that are doing well in business?
In this country today, many of people that are recognised on a global scale in business are not even Igbos, so what are you saying?

Correct . Far better than even building house for rent especially in the mainland or Ogun state . That 10m can't even finish two bedroom flat in Ogun state but what you will get from a house is not more than 500k per year

This is the 2020s, if you're going to school so that you can get a job, you're wasting your time and money.

School is to equip you with the knowledge that you can use in your chosen field to provide value to society - its a shame that many spend 4 years of tertiary education, but do not pick up the simplest knowledge of economics - money is in demand and supply.

You have an education that exposes you to formal aspects (and often outdated textbooks - yup books written two years ago are mostly obsolete by today's pace of new findings) and rewards you will a title of B.Sc so you can atleast get interviews and join certain circles - if you networked well.

You not equipping yourself to be able to start something however small with the mighty knowledge you ought to have gotten, you are the problem of yourself - and hey, you can always pivot!!!!! Take a cue of what's in demand, and provide the service (learn it first of course).

Truth is there are not enough jobs to accomodate even 10% of graduates we churn out nation-wide evey year.

Backlogs norva get, amaweh new batch wey no gree wise
what is the "something" that you have started?

Sir , a young boy of 18 or even 20 years without any skill and not in school yet does not have any reason to ask for money for business investment. That is recklessness.

Do not despair - investment in education, and from a good school like Babcock Uni, is never wasted. Be grateful to have had parents who saw potentials in you to have made that big investment. Now the rest is up to you and God.

What is the common theme you come across at interviews that you feel you didn't answer properly? Always ask your interview panel when they ask you for questions: what specific attributes are required for this role? Take their response very seriously - and use that to upskill.

I had a young mentee who schooled at Babcock Uni also. Six months before his graduation, the company he did 6 months internship with pleaded with him to accept an offer of employment. He refused, but they persisted anyway that he only needed to attend 1 hour meetings online every Friday and was paid at the end of the month. As soon as he informed them he had graduated, he was made a Team Leader. Less than 1 year later, he was employed by a Software company in Texas, and is today working with a Fortune 500 company.

Again, don't despair - fix your personal relationship with God, network with your colleagues who have moved ahead, identify your gaps, close them. Remember: the journey is not for the swift...

May you finish well, in Jesus name.

job is update na, you don't have update but it also depends on your course also. for IT related just use this simple h ack, do advanced cybersecurity at CYBERGON them get plenty client, from internship they will provide placement sharp sharp but its too expensive. Or you do volunteer work at UN you may get an appointment. Another option if you are not in the tech field, you could apply for the ongoing federal government jobs, most people are not aware of it and it will close soon. there are different opportunities just that people can't see it.

Some kids are not even allowed to study what they want to school. Nigerian parents decide everything for you.

A boy of 18 might already be selling petty stuffs and hoping to expand his business, the Nigerian culture does not support it.

I have seen mates who excelled in sports to National levels and their parents killed that opportunity when they wanted to go professional. All in the name of, you can do it while in the university or after university. it earned them nothing at the end of the day and never became the best in what they do now like they did in sports.

Education is good, but not for everybody.

Nawaoooo. Even private university students are experiencing unemployment rate in Nigeria. Things aren't normal in this nation
You are very correct about the terrible unemployment situation that has been worsening since ebilokan switched PDP prosperity for APC extreme poverty in 2015?

Why and how did we let him swap his expired northerner Buhari for a southerner Jonathan and end his presidency at one term, along with 16 years of PDP deregulation and privatisation driven prosperity.

What works do we all have to do to get those responsible for PDP prosperity back into Aso Rock ASAP before everything scatters beyond the destruction of APC's past 10 years huh

thisweekng:
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.

He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.

He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.

“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.

“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.”

in PDP leadership, there are huge unemployment rate too. Its just that throughout 16 years of PDP government, there was no removal of fuel subsidy. What Nigeria youths needs is vocational skills training before they get admission into tertiary institutions.

you are 100% correct. Really it's our parents that needs to be blamed most. They still thinks the olden days mentality where you will go to school, have your degrees and be looking for white collar jobs. Very bad. Millions of graduates are unemployed in the 22nd century we are running

Do you know better than ebilokan and his finance minister about how unemployment is WORSE than when PDP deregulation and privatisation capitalists were in office?

Why did PDP leaders not borrow as much money when they didn’t have $84 billion from subsidy savings? Is that because APC leaders looters are worse rogues as confirmed by Oshiomhole who called them the Association of Past Criminals?

May Day: Hunger, unemployment, insecurity real— Tinubu

According to him: “The theme demands our collective attention and serves as a stark reminder of the need to create an environment where every worker feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our nation. As your President, I assure you that this administration is committed to creating such an environment for the common good.”

On the economic hardship, he noted that while it is a global phenomenon, its effects on Nigerians are particularly severe.

Tinubu said: “I am aware of the peculiarities of the economic hardship Nigerians face—rising living costs, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and the loss of livelihoods. These challenges are real and demand definitive solutions, which I am poised to address as your President.

Till students are taught that going to school isn't meant for you to graduate and get a good paying job but to find your inner self and create opportunity for yourself in an economy like Nigeria then most graduate will always be lost after graduation. Graduate and get a job is a borrowed maxim from advanced planned economies like the Western countries where in a place like US with 50 states, you have an average of at least 100 companies worth a billion dollar per state but in
a place like Nigeria with two thirds of US population we don't even have up to a total of 20 companies worth a billion dollars nationwide with just few mid scale companies but hundreds of thousands of graduates are produced every year with mindset of getting jobs after graduation. From where?

You have a point but that is not how small businesses work. You must have the skill or experience in that business. Also you must have other related soft skills pertaining to money management.

funny guy , is it cast on stone that you gain automatic employment immediately after graduation because you finished from a private uni?
truth is 80% of products from public universities are far ahead than their counterparts from private uni.
why most parents send their children to private uni. is a result of unending strikes , cultism and other anti social behaviors bedeviling our university but the irony is public universities are not free from extortion , s** for marks and cultism.
