Governor of Imo State Hope Uzodinma has honoured Super Falcons players of Imo origin with a plot of land and a cash gift of N30 million each, following the team’s recent victory in the just concluded 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON, in Morocco.

The governor, while receiving the seven players at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Owerri, said that the honour for the Imo-born players was part of efforts by the entire state to domesticate and celebrate the feat achieved by the Nigerian female players.

Uzodinma, who expressed happiness during the dinner held in honour of the Imo players, announced a reward of a plot of land in a choice area of Owerri and a cash gift of N30 million to each of the seven players from the state, including the technical team members.

How is that tribalism? Stop spreading hate and ignorance on the Internet. Other states did that and have always done that whenever Nigeria wins in any major tournament. This has been going on as far as I can remember. Even some state governors have honored their citizens for merely participating and winning something as vain as BBNaijah.

The coach from Adamawa was also honored by his state, why didn't the governor host all the technical crew? Nwabali of the super Eagles was honored by Rivers State...

Adamawa state has rewarded the head coach who is indigen of the state with #50m did he win the tournament by himself?
When Rivers state governor honoured and splashed cash gifts to Stanley Nwabani for his outstanding performance at the last AFCON it wasn't tribalism abi? Continue crying that Imo state governor honoured his people were part of Falcons when you are done crying you wipe your eyes because you can't collect the gifts back.
