I actually borrowed some money to make it up to pay him because I don't have it complete. The next day he came around to give me the receipt. After the receipt he told me to go and pay the bar man at nearby joint for two bottles of beer for him. I didn't know what to tell him because I haven't even paid back the money I borrowed to complete my rent. I saw him at that joint two days after, he asked me about the drink I said later.

Should I buy him the drink?
Does he think I have enough money because I paid the rent immediately?
I asked the other two guys if they have paid they said no. Three of us came in the same period so we renew the same day.

If u dare, buy him they drink ONCE, that's it.... He has opened shop on your head be that. So don't dare buy it. I understand if u can't tell him off to his face, so do it this way... Continue to postpone it, BUT DON'T PAY IT. The barman knows who drank n who to ask for his money.

In d meantime, start planning to leave that house, your landlord is obviously a troublemaker

Was there any agreement he reached with his landlord to give him drink if he does not pay immediately? He is under absolutely no obligation to give his landlord even the cork of a bottle, let alone a drink.

Not the delay alone. You don't need to borrow for rent. It means you are leaving above your capacity which is not good for your financial growth. 12 months don't come all of a sudden, so if you cannot gather your rent over 12 months period, dude that house or apartment is not for you.
As for the drink? It's your choice to buy or not to buy. Either of the choice influences your relationship with him going forward.

Exactly my thoughts.
I know many people who pay their rent one month after expiration and some even stay more than that. The way he was talking that first time even when it wasn't up to two weeks. Now he wants me to buy him drink. Well I may just buy him the drink but he is inconsiderate.

But him that beer, but if he makes it a habit you have to stop.
