Good day my fellow Nairalanders......Happy new week and I hope y'all are having a great day? grin.......

Well, lemme start this thread by thanking every Nairalander out there who stood by me and believed in my hustle right from the beginning cheesy. Mehnn, It was indeed full of memories upon memories but I think it won't be a nice idea to finally hang my boots out of the Keke hustle without telling you guys how it has been all these years...

Honestly, there were good days, as well as bad days and there were equally days I wished I didn't start it all, but all thanks to y'all for your words of encouragement cheesy.........

3 years+ it has been since I got my first Keke via a higher purchase.....Glory be to God almighty that I was able to pay back every dime which was attached to it and it actually became mine...... unfortunately, last year, I sold it off due to numerous engine problems angry. And the sad part was when I got into series of troubles after going for another one angry. From police cases to other problems but thank God I was able to scale through all of them at last....

Fast forward to early this year, God did blessed me and I was lucky enough to buy another one, but this time around a second hand keke.......Besides that, I was able to start up a side hustle....

But now, I think I'm indeed fed up with the transportation life angry. Fed up with the lots of fights from agberos......And I'm so fed up engaging with different task force parading themselves as government officials....And also fed up with passengers who find pleasure in hawking their anger issues, looking for who to channel their frustrations in life on angry....infact, I've sold the Keke and I just want to put all my resources and effort into my business......

So , I just want y'all to stop seeing me as the Nairaland resident Keke rider as from henceforth cuz God has uplifted me above that cheesy .......

Mods. Please you guys should help me push this thread of mine to the promised land so that every Nairalander who insulted me in the past should know how their insults and disbelief pushed me into becoming who I'm becoming today angry .....
If you can, write a book about Keke business in Lagos. Are you in Lagos?

Just tell your story in the book. Provide every single information that whoever wants to enter the business should know. There are many people who can help you in editing the book here on Nairaland. Trust me it will sell.

Anyways,thanks boss...I sincerely appreciate 🙏
I am happy to read your story of improved life. Anyway, my advise for you is to invest well into the gas refill business and upgrade, because it will come to a time that the sector will be well regulated and you will need to meet standards and license to operate gas refilling business or your will forced out of the business. Reinvest any money you get into buying land that you could build the gas refilling business, standard equipment and tools . When all that is done, get the license to operate one as soon as possible before it gets out of reach.

Even if you did decide to continue with keke, it is no one's business. There is dignity in labor as long as it is not armed robbery.

But then, I am happy for you that you are moving on to better things. And all I can wish you now is godspeed.

Bro, first of all — massive respect. 🙌🏽
It takes a lot of strength, resilience, and faith to walk the path you’ve walked, especially in this kind of economy where even consistency feels like a luxury. You pushed through the hustle, paid off a hire purchase, dealt with the madness of Lagos transport life, and still managed to start a side business. That’s not small at all.

Now that you’ve made the decision to leave the Keke life and focus fully on your business, here are a few pieces of advice:

1. Treat Your Business Like a Real Company
You’ve been self-employed for years already — don’t underestimate that. Now channel the same discipline and structure into your business:

Track your income and expenses

Separate business and personal money

Brand it properly (even if it’s just WhatsApp, Instagram, or a simple flier)

Show up every day like someone is paying you a salary

2. Don’t Burn Bridges
Even if you’re done with transport, stay respectful of where you came from. The agberos, passengers, and fellow drivers may have stressed you out, but they were part of the story. You never know where connections, referrals, or even help might come from later.
3. Grow Steady, Grow Smart
Business growth takes time. Avoid the temptation to rush or compare your journey to others. Focus on:

Quality

Customer trust

Saving and reinvesting profits

If the business is product-based, think about scaling over time (e.g. from selling one item to supplying in bulk). If it’s service-based, think about building a team later.

4. Keep Your Faith + Mental Health Intact
It’s obvious you believe in God — don’t lose that anchor. But also take care of your mental space:

Rest when needed

Avoid toxic people (even clients)

Celebrate small wins

Don’t be afraid to ask for help

5. Stay Visible, Stay Learning
Let people know what you’re doing now. Use social media, old customers, or even Nairaland to announce your services. You’d be shocked how much support is out there when people know your story.

Also — keep learning. Free YouTube videos, online courses, books, mentors… anything that can sharpen your mind and grow your business faster and smarter.

You’ve survived what most people wouldn’t. You’ve paid your dues. Now it’s time to build smart, build big, and build with God.

And lastly — don’t ever downplay your story. That "Keke rider" phase made you who you are. Wear it as your badge of honor. People respect growth more than fake success stories.

You're not just leaving the hustle — you’re graduating from it.

Go harder. We’re rooting for you. 🙌🏽🔥

Business is lucrative most especially the phone charging.

I presently have a colleague running the business around agbaroh side, very lucrative he claims he generated around 40k averagely.

You are sited.

I been wan drop suggestions around your Keke but it's not available anymore
Stop Chasing Money.⁣ Do This Instead of You Want to be Rich

Become a person of value. Become a person who attract money. Become a person who can never get broke because you have something that people need and are willing to pay for.⁣

The moment you find yourself looking for money, you have missed the law. You will never find money. Money wasn't missing in the first place. ⁣

It is attracted by who you are becoming and more than what you do. ⁣

I will bless the works of your hands so the Holy Bible speaks.⁣

Now, what's in your hands that you want God to bless?⁣

My friend, learn a skill. Learn a highly-demanded or high-income skill and put yourself out there.⁣

Yes, put yourself out there. Attention is money. People will only be attracted to you when they know you have what they need. ⁣

It is one thing to learn a skill, it is another thing to know how to announce yourself to gain the attention of those who need your skill.⁣

Use social media platforms to do that. Every skill has a target audience that it attracts.⁣

LinkedIn is a strong community that can help you land opportunities if you know how to use it.⁣

The same for Facebook and other platforms.⁣

Learn a skill, focus on either LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook and position yourself as a brand known for a particular expertise.⁣

Learn a skill and content marketing.⁣

In this present era that we are, if you must succeed fast, you can't separate those two.⁣

But in all thy learning... Learn a skill. It is the ultimate starting point.⁣

I am benefiting from my skills today. I have been like that for years.⁣

What is in your hands that you want God to bless?

Hmmm ... like most that that pride not stopping you from doing what you think is best ... nor telling the world what you're doing or been through. I'm guess there was also a lot of competition in the keke business. How's competition in this new one? How long does it take on average to fully recharge a phone? And as others advised before ....make it a priority to go solar. Where is your business location? .. let's know so we can support your business if in the area....after all ...Nairalanders everywhere.
