This is a big shame!! Very unfortunate! And we have a president whose only daily biz is just about politics and 2027 elections! Whereas bandits and criminal elements invade our community, ravage and rape our women, mstchet them leaving sorrows tears and blood. The nation is really bleeding under this incompetent APC govt. Allow Peter Obi to take over pls. |

I weep for this country. The masses are messed up and fighting over the people who don't care about them. |

seyichicago:that is not what i asked. why should any military general be held responsible for the insecurity? let me understand you.... "tinubu is trying to win a second term". and "If he opens all the barracks and bomb the hell out of them, they'll say he is killing Northerners." what is the relationship? |

LordIsaac:It is an unfortunate situation but my only worry is how we have conveniently miss the elephant in the room: Nigerian democracy! With Buhari, most people thought because he was Fulani that is why he is soft on these bastards but let's not forget we saw this same trend during Jonathan, when he was forced to drop General Azubuike due to his second term ambition. Tinubu is towing the same path currently. Even Obasanjo went to war in Zaki Biam and Odi but allowed a parallel judicial system all because of his second term ambition, which in part has a hand in our current situation. The truth is, if Nigeria is still practicing democracy and the Fulanis as we have come to know are the major perpetrators, insecurity is not going away anytime soon. Not because they have the number, but because they have a very strong influence on the Northern region and its people. In fact, currently, more than 85% of the Norhern traditional and political leaders are of the Fulani stock. Democracy will always ensure the presidents/elected leaders panders to their voting block/where their votes will come from, as against taking decisive actions in the interest of the entire country. A critical flaw in Nigeria democracy, is allowing just about anyone (mostly people who have nothing to protect and/or lose) to vote and be voted for. In my opinion, only people who have proves of having contributed to the country in measurable ways (civil servants, military service, employers of labor, tax payers, etc) should have the right to vote. American democracy is working because majority of their voters have a stake in the country (at the very least, as taxpayers) and knows that their votes have consequences. The problem is, Nigeria only just copied the American democratic system in its entirety, without considering our peculiarities or putting our own touch. |

It's surprising that I'm in Lafia and haven't heard about this. This situation is appalling. To address the issue, the state could consider increasing security measures in higher institutions and student communities. Deploying additional police presence or establishing security outposts might help mitigate the problems. These areas have been vulnerable to various issues, and a more robust security presence could potentially help curb the menace. |

I still wonder how these animals enjoy sex through rape Our leaders sold our future for long now in the name of forming policies that can only favour them. Today, se where we are. Even they they clamouring for the removal of GEJ are no longer having the peace they claimed they sought for. Maybe, only Lagos is still left untouched of them all |

LordIsaac:We live in stupid country with so Many security agencies for nothing, bandits can operate for six hours non stop, the police sef can provide them with information, what do you think of a country where generals were killed in Mangu and nothing is done, where generals pay Ransom too? Over 1000 Generals for nothing, who will stop from japa? I'm sure most of the affected are our female students from the south, you can imagine a country... |

I was in the school some weeks ago to vist my niece. It's pathetic. There was a kind of curfew within the school environment. Funny enough, the hostel was taken over by children of the rich and politician. Other Students are left to fend for themselves. It's crazy. For you mods that always ban or suspend me for hours, I don't know what you stand to gain. |

We are so sentimental in Nigeria that in every situation we pass the bulk without lifting a finger, the university first and foremost have a VC appointment by the President as the chief security officer of the school what is his primary assignment if not for the protection of lives and property of the institution, secondly the school is situated within the boundaries of a state, what is the state government doing to safe guard the school and lastly and not the least we have the host community, we know how politicians lobby to get institutions hosted in their communities how come they do so just to score political goals and not for the interest of the development of education otherwise the host community should by all means protect the life of the university students, how do we blame the President on every issue allowing those saddled with the direct responsibility to hide under the umbrella and walk free from the blame and result of their inaction. |

In the capital city for that matter snd there's SUG in that school o?! By now massive protest should have been going on. I've always said it the carnage going on in Nassarawa is deliberately being blanked out by the govt. It's highly unfortunate that Nassarawa a predominantly christian state iss being ruled by a smaller Fulani entities who have vowed to hold on to power at all cost but God will intervene for the innocent people of Nasarawa and free them from the shackles of Pharaoh. |

Apel147:And who told u communities or Villages are shielding criminals? I want to ask u, have u lived in any of all this Nigeria communities or villages facing security challenges before? If u have, were u able to curb situation and restore normalcy to the affected areas or not? But if u haven't live in any of those communities or villages before and u are here claiming that they are shielding criminals, then u are only mocking the communities and villages facing the situation. |

It is wrong to generalize that all communities shield criminals. But it’s also equally wrong to deny that such occurrences happen. A productive conversation must: Recognize the suffering of innocent communities Call out the enabling of criminals within communities when it happens Support government and security efforts, while pushing for more accountability and effectiveness Denial helps no one. Dialogue does. Realguyman1: |
