Typical a consequence of misplaced priorities , billions are borrowed to be squandered on irrelevant pursuits which ad no value to the nations corporate existence.

See the coastal road that is already failing before completion. How do you build a road near the ocean with no drainage unless you really don't plan to complete it.

But these embassies generate revenue through various consular services. Why can't they pay themselves and clean up their digs.

I think one serious reform that should take place is for these embassies to create serious and organized business desks to facilitate international trade and get paid for brokerage.
Where did you hear that the embassies are exempt from the TSA like Wike? Unfortunately, the Rivers ologogoro leader looter has failed to use the increased tax burden on Abuja people to employ civil servants who can make water available for everyone in Nigeria’s FCT. Only God knows the way you people reason. So Obi's gubernatorial tenure is now the yardstick for Mr.President not to do the right thing? undecided

You guys should realise that there is no one else on this earth who can do anything about the situation except those who are presently in charge. If we go down the route of excusing every challenge nothing will ever get solved.

When you strongly critique it is not just the present system you send a signal to but you are also warning whoever seeks to lead in future that they better get prepared or not bother to stand at all.

I don't know of any democracy anywhere in the world where leaders are given such a free pass to mediocrity like this country's.

Is it not to your benefit as a citizen if these problems are sorted out fast.

Impactless, so those students enjoying NELFUND, our female sports babes that just got N150m, National awards and houses will also echo impactless?
When did it start deteriorating and how many months of salaries is being owed?
The report didn't even mentioned categories of staff being owed!

He must have been in the same place that ebilokan and his Yoruba followers were when they reinforced the failure of ebilokan’s 2011 expired looter six years ago, despite his miserable performance in the first term.

Did they do that just to get ebilokan through Yorubalokan in 2023?

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.

He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.

He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.

“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.

“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.”

Oga, slow your roll. Tinubu is 2 years and a bit in power. Nigeria had far more pressing issues, threatening to lead to the collapse of our nation, Tinubu had to grapple with after becoming President..

Reasonable people will understand there will be a hierarchy of urgency for solving what is myriads of problems for a country near bankrupt when Asiwaju took the helm of affairs.

The PBAT Government is the most burdened since our current democracy began in 1999. He needs time to deliver significant solutions in many sector affecting Nigeria and Nigerians considering most issues troubling Nigeria had become worse than they should due to years of aggregated inactions of past Presidents.

Something is wrong with apc
They think government is a joke, they think is about enjoying perks of office with their friends and throw tantrums in the media
They don't know its hard and serious work, that's why they are failing
Evidence of the president not knowing anything about his position is when he direct people to the governor for things that are not in the governor purview like security, fiscal and monetary policies
APC was just a vehicle for agbero, the worst of Nigerians to hijack power, they lack what it takes
For over ten years now, they've delivered nothing but pains to Nigerians
They should be ashamed of themselves

Precisely what I said to a poster above. He needs time but we know he has the will and talent to get it right.

It is dumb and unreasonable foe anyone to pick one out of literally thousands of problems facing Nigeria to then begin attacking the PBAT government with.

When resources is not limitless, and with Nigeria near total collapse when Tinubu took affair, won't their be a priority rating for solving the many problems facing Nigeria?
Or the President os a magician to wave a wand and every single problem of Nigeria is instantly resolved to world class standard.

The reason many Nigerians are biased and lacking objectivity, when deliberation over issues, is simply ethno-religious prejudice against others that prevents them.swwing what is obvious or even deliberately lying when they see/know what is crystal crystal clear.

Even if you lack the ability to think properly, try to pretend at times. A term is 4 years. Someone has done 40+% of his term and you are making excuses? Have you seen what Trump has done in less than a year, based on his promises? Smh

Bro, to prove my point about Nigerians been naysayers because of ethno-religious prejudice and hate, kindly inspect the thread below.

https://www.nairaland.com/8490712/fg-opened-single-digit-mortgage-loans

It highlights a wonderful and transformational development no government has attempted since our current democracy began in 1999.

I.e single digit long term mortgages, providing ordinary citizens of a nation with the opportunity to own their own properties.

Owning a family home is one of the ways of defeating generational poverty as it can be handed down to children freeing them from the burden of rent or even used as collated for loans to start businesses etc.

As such owning one's home is therefore very important to me and even sacrosanct as I believe it should be for Nigerians.

Now, inspect that thread to see if any of the vociferous naysayers here showed face to even grudgingly praise the initiative and development.

Does it not make sense that those who genuinely want progress for Nigeria never see nor praise positive developments yet remain focused exclusively on negatives alone always?

Ethno-religious and sectional hatred has damaged the minds of most Nigerians but they just don't realise this.

Pls they should contact the Embassy so that Tinubu will release $1 billion immediately to cater for such, may be he forgot and none of his staff reminded him , time to sack Ministers loading....

There is money in Nigeria, things are stable now for the Government, but not for the masses, for Tinubu to release #8.8Billion just because we want to celebrate our sports women really shows the boldness that money has come (OWULABI) in this Government of TINUBU...

So anytime there is money issue, we have to call on Tinubu to immediately splash money out ....but for the masses?? No, let their purchasing power be reduced so they will be forced to join APC...where Peanuts are distributed to the less privileged..

Which one be you are no less than 50 years old, na you be him papa?.

We are discussing the mess that Tinubu has made of Nigeria in his two years as president, and all you could offer in response was age-blackmail. For your information, even though I know you are already aware, nurses are on strike. Doctors are threatening to strike as well. The police are protesting, and even retired military personnel have not been spared Tinubu's corrupt, incompetent and mismanaged regime.

Nothing is and nothing will be checkmated. Tinubu must go!.
