What We Should Be Worried About Obi One Term Declaration. by ShoeMarket(op): 12:12pm On Aug 05, 2025
Those who are calling Peter Obi a liar for saying he will do only one term of 4 years are either myopic or people who know the truth but choose to look away. First, why do they think it is not possible for someone to do only one term and leave the stage?

Let's even look at it again, going by North and South rotation of Nigeria presidency, let's assume again that Tinubu looses reelection to a Southerner, that Southerner can only do one term, anything short will lead to chaos as it will be the turn of North after this 8 years. I think that what Obi is proposing is correct and nothing more.

It is sad that an average Nigerian political enthusiast have lost touch with what ordinarily should be known as truth. We now see everything from the lens of lies and political propaganda. This is a major damage done to us by our political leaders. My pity anyways is to those who have allowed these crop of politicians to make them believe that every said by opponent is impossible except it is coming from them.

Instead of people castigating Obi for declaring a one term presidency, sound minds should be worried if Obi will be able to make all the impact he has always talked about within this four years considering the level of damage done already to this country. If he can, then good and fine. Personally, this is my only worries. Not whether one term is possible or not that is immaterial to me.

Nelson Mandela ruled only for four years in South Africa and left the stage even when the call was loud for him to continue, but he refused, he was convinced he had made an impact and so he stayed through to his word, one term. There are other world leaders like him who also kept to their promises in office. Everybody cannot be like Mugabe of Zimbabwe or Paul Biya of Cameroun.

Obi is clear about his 4 years, why some Nigerians don't believe him sincerely baffles me.

Obi is saying so inorder to trick the North for their support. There is nothing more to the reason for saying so because of the gentle man agreement of power returning to the North in 2027. So if Obi should win which is almost a zero probability. He wants to make the North have confidence in him that he will hand over in 2027 which is a BIG LIE.

People that comfortably removed Jonathan from office are fearing Obi will run for second term if elected, I laugh. Someone that Wike and Atiku indirectly chased away from PDP before the presidential primaries is who they are fearing will run for second term if elected, LOL. Someone that didn't even run for Senate after governorship plus none of his children are actively involved in politics is who they are doubting his one-term promise. The fact is that even if Obi goes back on his word, he will be easily checkmated by ADC influential figures because he isn't a political juggernaut like Tinubu or Wike.

.

I think Obi is a political juggernaut. He is only cloned in calmness, but trust me he is tough guy even more than lousy Wike. Tinubu is not a tough guy as such he only succeeded in buying loyalty of people with money not that he is a tough person.

Anambra is the home of billionaires. Even most billionaires Lagos pride of are from Anambra that is a fact. Anybody who can rule that state must be a tough guy I bet you.

Obi is very funny for him to think people can't see through his silly lies.

Peter Obi's words mean nothing to him as he makes statement and promises he can never keep and he knew he would not keep his words from the beginning but he uses to promises to deceive his people.
