Your passengers will also be happy for the relief from arbitrary transport fare especially when it's raining, during festives period or when you need to make up your purchase repayments!

Good One
Congrats

In life there is no one that can't move from point 0 to 1 except the person is not willing to

So life has phases
We need to move in those phases
I have seen a gateman become big agent selling houses and renting apartments

We need to be focused in whatever we do

Congratulations. God is faithful.
However, I have some piece of advice on safety precautions in your line of business.
Cooking gas is highly inflammable.
Please, don't allow your customers to receive or make call in the enclosure or shop where you are selling. Anyone that needs to make or receive calls should go outside to do so.
Secondly, for the phone recharge unit, get a tag for issuing to customers for identification of each phone owner. Place the number at the back of the phone while the owner goes with the tally number. The tally number is what the owner will present before collection when ever they come back..
Happy selling and all the best.

Congratulations and thank God for you.
But I don't know if I am delving into your matter too much. Since you let us know about your starting and ending keke business. Don't you think you should also let us know about the new business, who knows if you can get patronage from some of us here. But if you don't want to reveal it, no probs. It's your private call. Thank you

The money use to buy gen could almost setup small solar if you know the way.
Even though I don't like the way you describe moving on to other business, there is dignity in labour, and drivers are just as normal and okay so other people too.

Hello, I bought a small inverter at around 250k. And can last for more than 12 hours. It requires small solar setup to charge or normal electricity to charge it.

You can look in that direction if u can.

. Na generator oh bro........na small small I go upgrade enter solar ..
if only you made your research well, you shouldn't have gotten generator. A power station ordinarily should be your solution. Anyways, save up for it and see yourself making massive returns from phone charging.

The job is not just demeaning but the entire system is just hostile to you, wth many dangers and temptations. Every morning you wake not knowing whether you will fall victim to government taskforce, agbero, police or even passengers. After dealing with all these, your vehicle will now deal with you by presenting one or two problems in addition to the already existing challenges.

I disagree guy.... It looks like u don't have maintenance culture.... Every damn u make from the Keke ,u should have a fixed percentage for repair.... Then how u handle the Keke also matters ...
maybe. He doesn't,
I just bought a new tricycle 3.5m and gave the old one I bought for 1.7m as in new, but I used it for almost 2yrs, for 2.5m.

Add this in the main post. The whole write-up is naked without it. Cos it just seemed like you lost and gave up on the transport business despite all your efforts.
P.S: Congratulations on this gas/phone charging business. It's the koko now.

Good day my fellow Nairalanders......Happy new week and I hope y'all are having a great day? grin.......

Well, lemme start this thread by thanking every Nairalander out there who stood by me and believed in my hustle right from the beginning cheesy. Mehnn, It was indeed full of memories upon memories but I think it won't be a nice idea to finally hang my boots out of the Keke hustle without telling you guys how it has been all these years...

Honestly, there were good days, as well as bad days and there were equally days I wished I didn't start it all, but all thanks to y'all for your words of encouragement cheesy.........

3 years+ it has been since I got my first Keke via a higher purchase.....Glory be to God almighty that I was able to pay back every dime which was attached to it and it actually became mine...... unfortunately, last year, I sold it off due to numerous engine problems angry. And the sad part was when I got into series of troubles after going for another one angry. From police cases to other problems but thank God I was able to scale through all of them at last....

Fast forward to early this year, God did blessed me and I was lucky enough to buy another one, but this time around a second hand keke.......Besides that, I was able to start up a side hustle....

But now, I think I'm indeed fed up with the transportation life angry. Fed up with the lots of fights from agberos......And I'm so fed up engaging with different task force parading themselves as government officials....And also fed up with passengers who find pleasure in hawking their anger issues, looking for who to channel their frustrations in life on angry....infact, I've sold the Keke and I just want to put all my resources and effort into my business......

So , I just want y'all to stop seeing me as the Nairaland resident Keke rider as from henceforth cuz God has uplifted me above that cheesy .......

Mods. Please you guys should help me push this thread of mine to the promised land so that every Nairalander who insulted me in the past should know how their insults and disbelief pushed me into becoming who I'm becoming today angry .....
I love this story not because it's the best situation or circumstances but because it shows the power of good decisions and daily progress and perseverance.

Don't not despise the days of small beginning the bible says. Keep being legit and making right and high quality decisions and u will get there.

However my most Important Observation was how well u write and tell ur story with sound articulation. I don't know if u speak as well as u write cos it can vary widely but I acknowledge ur sound command of English and literary writing.

Now I wonder how does someone who writes and thinks this well end up driving keke? undecided Many things can be involved or factors I know but thank God ure making the right calls and making measurable progress. Bless u.

This is one of my biggest prayer point in Life.

I pray nothing ever take me close to this business either as owner or rider again in my lifetime and the next. Even if any entity be it person or organization gift me Commercial Vehicles, I will sell All instantly.

I have experienced all the Menaces, Hazards & Unforseen Circumstances of this Hustle in the past. It's not worth it at all for anyone who Value his/her Mental & Physical Health.

Anything NURTW related to "Physically On The Roads" count me out. It's still better if one is working in their offices because the kind of "Cursed Levies" they are packing home everyday no be here.

I feel he doesn't still know his way around the hustle. If you know your way as a transporter, it will get to a level that Police, Lastma and Agbero will be your friend. I don't encourage bribing, but that's what goes down in the street.
I have been doing keke work for the past 11 years now and I can categorically tell you that police and Lastma don't disturb me at all. The worse they can ever do is to ask for "card money"

For maintenance, a lot of Nigerians need to understand that anything that gives you money will also require part of it at a point. Some people don't service their keke monthly, some don't add grease to axles and all. All these maintenance patterns are what people don't pay attention to and they are always quick to complain about keke developing faults at intervals
