The Y Junction @ Idumota, Before The Soldiers Cemnotaph Was Relocated. The Road To The Right Is Ereko Street While Road To The Left Was Formally Victoria Street Later Renamed Nnamdi Azikiwe Street.

There's An Ally Way Where The One Storey Building With 3 Windows & Mini 7Up Advert Known As Ishaga Lane. The 2nd Ally Way Is Luke Street Where My Mum's Shop Was Before She Moved To Central Mosque Area (Moşalaşi Jumaat).

The 3rd Ally Way Is Ębipejø Lane Ębi-Pe-Jø (Family Gathering) Corrupted To Be Ebipejo😛 (Hungry Snake). 4th Ally Way Is Edidi Lane & Lastly Lawrence Lane. These Ally Ways Are Not Motorable But Leads From Ereko Street To Nnamdi Azikiwe Street (Labisi Adeoti on Facebook).
This picture brought back memories. Idumota where we had the Cenotaph and the Watchtower. This was our route going to Church, St Paul's Church Breadfruit, on Broad Street from our house at Railway Compound at Ebute Metta every Sunday in the 60s. The Watchtower junction leads to my mother's family house at Obun Eko. (Dolapo Bright on Facebook).

Go to that area today and see the kind of anti social elements( thugs, alayes, owomida boys etc ) that have long made a mess of it. Even the unknown soldier cenotaph is a place they smoke hemp and other substances

Britain was supposed to hold on till at least 1997 as they did with Honk Kong before granting independence to Nigeria.

Nigeria would have look exactly as the UK if we didn't get our independence from the Britain.

Western region was doing great and moving at a fast pace before the coup of January 1966 scattered everything..

Western region had a TV station and was offering free education and healthcare before many developed countries.

Whao! Still affirming that Tinubu didn't build or developed Lagos as known, but ended polluting it with his hoardes of anti-social alayes, brigands and others

Yeah. The Wild, Wild West era was a period of peace and tranquility for a sophisticated region that ended up giving a nation a despicable criminally inclined man like Tinubu.

If they have stayed a little, no country in Africa will beat us in terms of development as a result of the abundance of natural resources.

Hehehe! You mean a Lagos whose blueprints frame work was laid by the likes of late Brigadier Mobolaji Johnson, Lateef Jakande(Baba Kekere ), Raji Fashola etc? Daniel Bwala have long reiterated the solemn truth;

@PeterObi is better than @officialABAT both as a governor and a businessman. If Peter Obi had the revenue and FG infrastructure of Lagos, he would have truly turned Anambara more than Tinubu left Lagos........

Infact if not for the Buhari's Coup of the early 80s that derailed the progressive development of Lagos. Lagos for don go far, far, far ahead. All this Light rails of today were already initiated for during the days of Jakande.

And regarding the TV station,

Nigeria's First Television Broadcast
Western Nigeria Television (WNTV) launched on October 31, 1959, making it the first television station in Nigeria and the first in Africa.
The station was created by the Western regional government, under Chief Obafemi Awolowo, to serve as a tool for education, information, and cultural promotion.

France launched their's 3 years earlier in Algeria not even France.

The lack understanding. All the governors that have succeeded Tinubu one after the order have been working in line with Tinubu's vision. Even Dangote has attested to this fact many, many times, likewise has all these Governors done the same . Yes , that is the gift of a visionary leader.
