More residents of Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos State have cried out as flooding caused by the incessant rainfall over the weekend has left many trapped indoors. Rivers of water now flow through the streets, with several houses submerged.

In one viral video, a resident is seen showing her sitting room completely flooded—chairs and household items floating in the water as she desperately tries to scoop it out using buckets.

I read about the Nigeria metrologist warning ahead of heavy rain and thunderstorm. They even listed some areas expected to be affected.

But as usual in Nigeria, both the citizens and the government are not taking important early message seriously.

Meanwhile, those who have blocked the drainage passage would have themselves to be blamed. Don't just do because you have the money now and go and buy lands at water path, it would end up in regret

Flood is normal because Lagos is close to the ocean even developed country like USA and South Korea had it worse than Lagos state, the flood that happened in USA recently killed a lot of people even young children died, it also claimed lives in south Korea.

I cannot buy a house I will live in Ikorodu, Mowe, and other parts many average Nigerians build homes. Rather, I will buy a flat in well structured area and share a compound with others. Sure, having a house in Ikorodu and other places like that will just be for having a structure sake which will serve other purposes. The rent is nothing, and I may keep the house empty for years till I get real use for it. And if the value shoots up such that I can fling the property to buy another in a better location, I will not hesitate to. Living in unstructured areas is a piece of headache. The citizens are the worst set of humans there.
