Lol, the quality of governance relative to what we've had to endure from Buhari then BAT says it's not true.

I used to call him Adaobi then, but Obi lies so much even for a politician who are expected to lie. Even petty unnecessary lies like I have worn 1 watch for the past 2 decades which shows he is a pathological liar. Most everyday people use more than 1 watch for 10yrs which is expected but Obi wants you to believe he is the only exception who has 1 watch for 20yrs

When you lie about little things, Imagine what you will do about bigger things
Obviously, most of these Obidients just want "our brother" to be the President and not because they want Nigeria to be better. I can't imagine myself promoting Fayose to become the President just because he is 'my brother'. I will be an heartless person.

To many Obidients, it is more of Igbo presidency than effectively efficient presidency, but they needed to conceal it.

Mark, you see, this is where I will push back and will not stop.

Anyone is welcome to banter Obi, question his integrity, personality, performance as a Governor or any held position and I will have absolutely no problem. Infact, you can banter and ridicule his voice, shoe, wrist watch, it is all part of the game and as a politician Obi should expect it, he put himself out there like every other politician.

However, on a personal level, I will not tolerate or accommodate any attempt to ridicule Obi because he is "Igbo" or any agenda narrative around his tribe, whether hidden or obvious. The last time I checked, Obi is a candidate of a National Party with National following and is well within his constitutional right to vie for that office. Obidients do not represent the Igbo cause, they represent their own political ideology. This is the same way I have pushed back on the idea that IPOB represent Igbos and our collective cause.

Once again, let me be very clear, I don't care about Agendas against Obi nor Asiwaju nor Atiku, but please, refrain from making this about Obi being Igbo because we know where it will go and rest assured I will take PTO days for it and not back down.

Isn't it funny that the most vocal supporters of Obi, and the two monikers he has been quoting back and forth, are not even Igbos?

Spell Obi backwards, it's Ibo, the two cannot be separated cheesy grin grin

Anambrans who cursed Obis tenure as Governor renovating him at National level 10 years later can only be for ethnic reasons

That's like me renovating Odili or Wike, infact some hammerings Jonathan did in Bayelsa including a massive fraud on Imiringi gas turbines is what made me not stand behind him at National level.

The 2 should never be separated, the same way Ibime should never be separated from Okrika! However, I shouldn't use my disapproval of Ibime to now spread dangerous narratives against Okrika/ Ijaw people. If I have a problem, I have a problem with Ibime, not Okrika or Ijaw nation. I will not hide behind my personal hate against Ibime to spread dangerous narratives against Okrika/ Ijaw nation.

The same way you have Igbos who have maintained their position against Obi, irrespective of him being their brother. What should I call those ones? Non-Igbos? Haven't you been reading screenshots of Igbos against Obi's candidacy on this thread? There are prominent Igbo sons in government and the private sector that do not agree and have been openly against Obi's candidacy, what does that make them? Dee Soludo constantly berates Obi's candidacy, he is well within his rights to do so.

I am passionate about my people and our collective cause and hate when people try to box Igbos into a small corner using groups like Obidients/ MASSOB/ IPOB. I believe it is narrow minded, a dangerous and repulsive narrative.

Check that line you highlighted and I believe my using many Obidients before it, clears your concerns about my position. Not all Obidients are pushing this agenda but those that after cursing Obi for failing in Anambra and now he is the Messiah, have questions to answer. Plus those who after seeing proofs of his woeful performance as Governor and his lies and gimmicks, still defending him because he is from their tribe.

I will rather become mute than promoting Fayose to become the President as he is in the same category of deceptive leaders like Obi, in my eyes.

What do you make of the percentage of votes that the 3 major candidates got in their home region in the 2023 elections and the possible explanations for it?

There is a graphic for it that I am trying to look for

Mark, like I said, I have no issues with you or anyone for that matter that banter Obi on numerous issues, including his performance.

There are Yorubas who made dangerous comments against Asiwaju before his presidency but today, he is the best President and a 2nd term is not negotiable. We are speaking of people who did not align with Asiwaju and called him names before his presidency. What should I call those ones? There are also the likes of Aregbesola, who is an Omoluabi, with grassroot following across the SW but is publicly against Asiwaju's Presidency/ candidacy, what does that make him?

[color=royalblue]Obi polled 6 million votes in 2023

1.9 million was from the South East.
1.7 million was from the North Central
1.2 million was from the South South.

But only Igbos are the ones that packaged him, because he's their brother.

I have known you here, and irrespective of how you drag Obi, you have never gotten to that line.

Dayo, your history precedes you. You notoriously despised Dee Soludo before he became Governor, but the moment Dee Soludo started going against Obi, he suddenly became your treasured politician from the South East. The same Reno suddenly changed tune against the same Obi and for Asiwaju. We all know what we are doing here.

What do you make of Obi winning states outside the South Eastern states? The Nigerian elections is based on majority, show us how Obi polled across the country and tell us it is Igbos in those all those states that gave him millions of votes.

This one is dead on arrival.

but This is the first time the SE is not unanimously voting for PDP since 1999. Any guess on why that happened?

Supporting a candidate does not necessarily mean you're renovating his period of governance, it might be that in the present context he's the best alternative. I'm on this board cursing Tinubu morning and evening, but if you put a Tinubu beside say a Buhari (your man) or an Okphebolo, I'd wax lyrical for Tinubu...does that mean all my previous opinions about him are invalid, no...it just means in the present context, he's the better option.

There are Lagosians that swear by Sanwoolu and the APC, so too are there Lagosians that can never see anything good in what Sanwoolu and the APC has to offer.

I sincerely don't know anywhere in this world where you'd have a candidate in position that you won't see contrasting opinions about his time...it's the nature of democracy and opposition politics.

You say Igbos are packaging him because he's their brother...So what's the explanation for a North Central just being 200k short? Are they Igbos?

The discussion was that the Igbos sold him because he's their brother, but you forget that it is the other votes from other regions that took him to 3rd

So where the Obi is Igbo agenda coming from this evening is what I don't understand

And that's because it was the first time since 1999 that we had three competitive parties vying for the presidency...Ojukwu contested prior and he didn't sweep the SE unanimously.

We have several states in the SS, SE and Middle Belt that had never in the past voted a party outside of the two major opposition parties but in 2023 they did.

Everything doesn't have to be simply tribal, and this isn't me saying there are no tribal sentiments that influence voting decisions (it does and it happened across board).
