Of what effect would the percentage mean, when we both know that the SE had the least voting population?

You say Igbos are packaging him because he's their brother...So what's the explanation for a North Central just being 200k short? Are they Igbos?

The discussion was that the Igbos sold him because he's their brother, but you forget that it is the other votes from other regions that took him to 3rd

I'm not here to debate 2023 results oh. I'm just here to entertain and be entertained

Once again, help us sit on the side lines.
The percentage shows the number who voted vs the total number of voters. That is what shows the agenda and there is nothing wrong with it

Obi was steadily scoring an average of 90% votes in the SE that will make Saddam and Ghadaffi look like saints

The only reason Obi got percentages like that was what again? For our entertainment purpose?

And that's because it was the first time since 1999 that we had three competitive parties vying for the presidency...Ojukwu contested prior and he didn't sweep the SE unanimously.

We have several states in the SS, SE and Middle Belt that had never in the past voted a party outside of the two major opposition parties but in 2023 they did.

Everything doesn't have to be simply tribal.
So why was it that Obi was the only candidate that was scoring 90% of votes in his home region?

Atiku didnt, Tinubu didnt, Kwankwanso didnt. Obi did. Obi did percentages he never did when contesting for governor sef

Mark, like I said, I have no issues with you or anyone for that matter that banter Obi on numerous issues, including his performance.

There are Yorubas who made dangerous comments against Asiwaju before his presidency but today, he is the best President and a 2nd term is not negotiable. We are speaking of people who did not align with Asiwaju and called him names before his presidency. What should I call those ones? There are also the likes of Aregbesola, who is an Omoluabi, with grassroot following across the SW but is publicly against Asiwaju's Presidency/ candidacy, what does that make him?
The two scenarios of Obi and Tinubu are not the same. Those that changed their position on Tinubu may have 1 or 2 things he has done as President that convinced them. What can those that changed position on Obi, point at that made them change their minds when he hasn't held any position since he left Anambra? Obi never held any position after he left office to inform the strange metamorphosis

Bro, my post didn't put all Igbos and even all Obidients under the bus and that's what you should understand and please don't twist it as such. .

Supporting a candidate does not necessarily mean you're renovating his period of governance, it might be that in the present context he's the best alternative. I'm on this board cursing Tinubu morning and evening, but if you put a Tinubu beside say a Buhari (your man) or an Okphebolo, I'd wax lyrical for Tinubu...does that mean all my previous opinions about him are invalid, no...it just means in the present context, he's the better option.

There are Lagosians that swear by Sanwoolu and the APC, so too are there Lagosians that can never see anything good in what Sanwoolu and the APC has to offer.

I sincerely don't know anywhere in this world where you'd have a candidate in position that you won't see contrasting opinions about his time...it's the nature of democracy and opposition politics.
My man, that's not what's going on

What's going on is people who cursed Obi tenure now making out he was Lee Kuan Yew

Every election isn't the same, or are you saying if all three candidates ran again in 2027 the electoral map for 2023 will repeat itself exactly?

Who are the people? Are there no people that also praised his tenure...why is it only those that cursed his tenure that you're using to validate your position?

Same way those that cursed him probably changed their minds because they got older and saw he was actually better than they thought especially in comparison with the competition.

Do you know that some idiots in Ekiti, still believe that Fayose is the best Governor till date? I don't know what's wrong with some Nigerians who are attracted to actors masquerading as leaders. angry

In fact I will prefer not to to vote at all if he is vying for Presidency against say El Rufai.

There are people that cursed OBJ/Jonathan when they were in power, but got to know better down the road.

At some point Ibime swore by Buhari, to the point he sang poem for the man, but today he's repented of his ways and now joins to decry the man's handling of the country.

It's okay for opinions to evolve given new evidence.

The are 100% the same. The same people who did not like Obi may have gotten better information about his tenure and changed their minds. Using a technical term to avoid generalization isn't going to cut it for me. Many Igbos are packaging Obi under the guise of Obidients and I am telling you that Obidients do not represent an Igbo cause. Obi received votes across the entire country, were all the voters Obidients packaging him for Igbo presidency?

Baba let it slide as the defence is sounding ridiculous. Even on this platform any decent and responseible Obidient with no ulterior motive will drop his support because of the exposed lies, deceptions and failures that permeated his tenure in office. Not to talk of people living in Anambra during that time and felt the pains of his maladministration and voiced out.

It's like me changing my mind on Jackson right now and praising him to high heavens, after highlighting how he flopped and when he hasn't done anything after last season. I should be questioned.

I am essentially showing you that if you want to have a petty argument, we can have a petty argument devoid of logic. It is narrow minded to conclude that across the entire nation, 3 major political parties, a group of Obedients are the only ones who have changed their positions about a candidate they support..Just because they want to package him as an Igbo candidate. Do you know how absurd that reads?

Are Obedients only Igbos? What of the millions of votes he got from other regions? Were they also packaging him as an Igbo candidate?

A lot of the people that today praise Tinubu to high heavens have in times past laid hot curses for him. I don't know why this freedom to change positions should be available to certain persons and not to others.

It's well sha, the good thing is we know what they're doing.

Where in my post did I tell you this bro? You are getting too emotional and I understand but don't force words into my mouth.

You can't equate a student that changed his mind about Tinubu after receiving loans from his Government or someone that almost lost his life on the Enugu - Onitsha road, now seeing the same road getting strong attention from the Govt unlike before, to those who highlighted how Anambra didn't have pipe-borne water and neglect of General hospitals during Obi's 8 years, now calling him the Messiah for Nigeria. Even here my man Okpa asked about what Obi did in Anambra to be elated about.

Baba, let it slide.

You haven't told us why Obi got 90% in his home region which other candidates did not in their home region.

Especially Obi that was very mediocre in governance as governor where his people cursed regularly

Today he's doing media round to sing the gospel of Tinubu

Naaaaa.

Below is your original post and my response. Make of it what you may, they are our words.

You can't make careless comments like "most of these Obidients just want "our brother" and "To many Obidients, it is more of Igbo presidency" and when I show you that the total number of votes he gathered by state trumps whatever he gathered in the SE, you start changing narrative, dancing around Anambra.

Except "Most" Obedients now mean voters across the entire country then that Igbo agenda you are trying to push is dead.
