I believe Fayose is better than Alao-Akala.
This may be true sha.

People like Obi and Fayose have found the Gspot of some Nigerians. They even finger it with reckless abandon in our faces.

You haven't told us why Obi got 90% in his home region which other candidates did not in their home region.

Especially Obi that was very mediocre in governance as governor where his people cursed regularly
I've seen lot of praises for Peter Obi's time as governor, I believe that's a reason for the votes he gets, plus SE tends to do bloc voting, and the person he was running against was Tinubu (a man past his physiological sell date with a shady past in the drug game and a notorious history of corruption).

Naaaaa.

Below is your original post and my response. Make of it what you may, they are our words.

You can't make careless comments like "most of these Obidients just want "our brother" and "To many Obidients, it is more of Igbo presidency" and when I show you that the total number of votes he gathered by state trumps whatever he gathered in the SE, you start changing narrative, dancing around Anambra.

Except "Most" Obedients now mean voters across the entire country then that Igbo agenda you are trying to push is dead.
I know that not all that voted for Obi are Obidients. Those who are Obidients and that have cursed Obi or aware of his failure as Governor are those my post was directed at. Context bro.

That's not what I need, don't show a deceptive trait of Obi. I have an in-law bearing Bose but she is not Yoruba and she won't call herself one. Edo is not Yoruba, what's your state?

Even if we're to say his Igbo brothers want him as president, Peter Obi was only governor of one of the five SE states...how did people in Anambra speaking about his governance suddenly become most Igbo's?

It's obvious you harboured deep-seated tribal sentiments in the post you made, no need jumping around the place trying to renovate "most" to what it's not.

These are the issues. He indicated he's Yoruba, but because you believe that means he should automatically supporty Tinubu, you're trying to strip him of his identity because he's not in that camp.

Again, Mark, I have said this severally, I have no problem with anyone bantering Obi, personality, achievements or lack of or whatever; every politician should expect that.

If not all that voted for Obi are Obidients, then there is no reason to make generalization about his candidacy being an Igbo agenda. Voters changing their position is nothing novel, it is not restricted to Obidients, they are everywhere.

Should we post the litanies of Reno Omokri for and against the same Obi? What exactly changed for Reno? When he was praising Obi, what inspired it? Was it because he was Igbo? Now, that he is against Obi, what should we call him? Is there a world where he publicly supports Asiwaju but still respect Obi because of his previous positions? Or is Reno just a liar?

There should be no reason to isolate their tribes because of the choice to do it differently.

This is false and yu know it. There are many Yorubas against Tinubu even on this thread than Ibos against Obi in real life and on this thread for example

He was not running against Tinubu alone he was running against Atiku as well

Obi was known among those who lived in Anambra during his tenure as a very mediocre governor, yet in 2023, he became the person with the highest percentage of votes

All those from his region who chastised him suddenly canonized him, Many have started deleting their tweets and posts

example is the image below, a poster who pointed to Obi "meager list of accomplishments" but has not deleted it

Or how does a blank post get 55 likes?

So have you chose to put your feelings over the fact that more Yorubas oppose Tinubu than Ibos who oppose Obi?

This thing you've described for this poster with 55 likes doesn't only apply to Peter Obi, there are people that support Tinubu that have done same too.

Why should one group have the freedom to do a 180 on their positions as regards a particular candidate, and another group be denied that freedom? Or have their decision to do that tied only to tribal affiliation?

No, I haven't, the results showed this, that's the fact...where we differ is in what motivates the opposition, and what the reasons could be.

You insist it's simply tribal sentiments, and I say the reasons are multifaceted.

We have seen Tinubu barely winning in his home region while Obi swept his own region in Ghadaffi like manner, that is evidence to support which candidate had more support based on his tribe and ethnicity

Yes but the main one was the ethnicity of Obi as a candidate why he can post such Ghadafi number, The type of numbers he couldnt even get as Anambra governor both times he contested

Why did you claim larride support Tinubu because of his tribe?

Larride that has always been an APC card carrying member who has always voted APC in every election including councilor, LG chairman, Governor, then supported an APC candidate for presidency and it became because of his tribe

But when someone who had voted PDP all their lives suddenly switched to Obi, you want us to believe its not because of his tribe

KWAM1 nearly got run over by Valuejet plane on the runway . He was carrying alcohol in a bottle which the airline officials informed he can’t carry onboard the plan as it is normal protocol .

He insisted on taking the alcohol on board and ended up spilling the alcohol on the airline official’s body .

Imagine a 68 year old man begging in such unruly manner . 🤦‍♂️

Anyways , the pilot and copilot have been suspend led for nearly running him over when he insisted the plane would not fly without him.

That is not evidence, there are people that insist that the only reason anyone from the South West would vote for Tinubu was because of his ethnicity...there are even videos of people making such statements, so too there are Northerners saying their reason for voting Tinubu was to return the favor the South West did to them supporting Buhari for 8 years. Despite all of these evidences, it'd be lazy to say Tinubu only got votes from those regions because of those sentiments.

The only thing we know for certain are the results of the votes, the reasons for those results I imagine would be a multifactoral...in all the tweets you've been sharing I've not seen any where the persons are saying the reason for their change of mind about Peter Obi was because he was a fellow Igbo man.

That's an opinion, maybe one that says more about the reasons you support your candidate.

Peter Obi is not the first Igbo man to have contested for the presidency, Ojukwu did and he didn't poll these sort of numbers, in fact there are non-Igbo's that in other elections performed better than Ojukwu did in the South East.

There will always be those who will vote for a candidate because he is from their ethnic group. Nothing wrong with that but when it starts looking suspicious is when a candidate is returning 90% from his region

That starts to look somehow

I just told u about his absolute loyalty and tribe was secondary hence d / sign.

It is not out of place if ur choice is base on tribe but competence speaks volume.

If I have a Yoruba and non-Yoruba tribe on a hot seat and both are roughly same in smartness and competence..I would definitely be biased by default.

But tinubu was 2/100 in qualities needed,..it was more of a surprise to see someone queuing in for him hence my tribe taught.

Well if that region has always voted in bloc, maybe tribal sentiments would be the jara 15%. Or it could be less than 15% when you factor other things.
