grandstar:Which White flight please let's call a spade a spade. Black population, occupations destroyed those cities and turned them into full time ghettos. Including Memphis TN, St Louis, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Queens NY, Pueblo CA, Alexandria VA, and so many other cities that have more black populations in it. Just look them up on google if you wish |

Depriest2020:This is the most brilliant comment I've read here tonight. I used to tell some people about it. Unfortunately, the gen zs on nairaland never had an idea what lagos in particular and Nigeria in general looked like, long before they came. Maybe they'd have reasoned differently. South africa may have suffered apartheid era for too long but their successive generations will continue to enjoy what the whites had put in place. They developed SA so much, as if they'd never leave. Thanks to buhari, the majority of our rail tracks, which are still in use today were built by the colonialists. Most bridges and roads leading to many remote villages in Nigeria today were constructed by them. No colonial master bough a private jet but Tinubu had 3. He's not the only one milking us. They're many. I pray for the restoration of Nigeria's lost glory. . |

Depriest2020:At least three generations would have grown up as second class citizens in their own country and the sense of confidence that Nigerians are known for globally would not exist. |

DeepSight:And what have they done with that confidence? Look at the situation of our society today. We have a twisted mindset of a people. From terrorism up north to ritual killings down south. Poverty and squalor keep growing everywhere. I don't support colonialism but it sure doesn't look as if the sub Saharan African has done well in governing himself. |

raskymonojendor:The first was when Tinubu was the governor of. Lagos while the second was when Ambode was the governor, and he had to go head to head with Tinubu before he could build the terminal same with what fashola did. You need to break away from his clutches as a governor to make any meaningful contribution to the state. Under Sanwo who has refused to break away from his clutches tho dem dey fight now, what has the achievement ? |

Obaaderemi2:It will take time my brother. If you are familiar with South Africa you will know the vast difference in confidence and a sense of authority and ownership between South Africans and many other black Africans. They have the infrastructure yes, but a cruel wound was inflicted on their minds. It will take generations for them to recover from it. An average Nigerian has the confidence of a 1st class citizen anywhere in the world. An Average blac south African still struggles with this. Even black Americans struggle with it. We have severe probems oh, but I tell you, many of us dont know how precious is the fact that we didnt grow up under any oyinbo domination. |

Racoon:After all of you finished ranting about Anambra and Lagos y’all should be reminded that Lagos was first a capital city that alone has Lay down a framework for development in that region and also be reminded that Anambra was a region invaded by the Nigeria military during civil war so stop that foolishness by comparing both states One thing that will make Nigeria never change is this mentality of trying to compare and competing with each other instead of fighting for a national interests i have traveled to some Africa countries and also UAE 🇦🇪 the mentality of their citizens is to make sure their country is better not just one particular region but the entire country, that’s Patriotism, but right here in Nigeria you see us tearing each other down on the internet washing our dirty undies outside simply because of tribe and religion or maybe political affiliation, let me make it clear to you when you go outside Nigeria they won’t ask you of your tribe but your nationality which is “Nigerian” so have it at the back of your mind that being a Yoruba or Igbo Hausa or Fulani doesn’t make you a citizen of another country we are all Nigerians and being addressed as one, so keep fooling yourselves until you burn your country down with your sentimental ways of reasoning, this is what the political elites use as a weapon to divide us from pursuing a national goal Las las na suffer go unit all of una 🤣😂🤣 |

Racoon:No amount of downspeaks from you can bring Tinubu’s down and no amount of promotion from you can elevate your mediocre of a candidate called Obi. The two are far apart in terms of intelligence and administrative capacity. Nigeria can’t afford a dullard like Obi. |

/ If Lagos was this developed and neat in 1963, which part exactly did Tinubu build outside of the verifiable works of Fashola and Ambode? / |

If you visit Idumota today you might just throw up, that's how bad we Nigerians are when it comes to taking care of things. |

Racoon:Your people destroyed Lagos. You have overpopulated the belove city with massive migration, disturb the infrastructures. Don't you notice that when some of your people go away in December, Lagos look calm, gentle and light with all her glory. |

Racoon:We use to call that Junction "Ago Tawa" back in the days. Actually it is the Locals way of calling The Tower Clock at that Junction. Wow. I practically lived my live in and around that Place. It is used to have a Barclays Bank, a First Bank and back in the days when Dogs were used to guard Bank's Entrance. I remember Arksego Guards with their Alsatian Dogs. How time flies. |
