I'm not gonna lie though! I'm addicted to rice and pasta and controlling my calories is the only thing I could do long term because I just love! Carbz 😂
That is where discipline comes in, K love rice too but I had to get rid of it. Rice is a simple carb that realeses lots of glycogen into your blood stream and overwork your pancreas creating temporary spikes and crashes in the brain. These spikes induce cravings and make you want to eat more food.
Also we eat wrongly in Nigeria like combining multiple carb sources like, rice and plantain or beans. It should be one card source plus protein and natural fat not multiple carbs at once.

Carb so often gets a bad rap but it's the default fuel source for the body, especially the brain. The body only resorts to other fuel source when sugar is not available. Any diet that is devoid of any form of sugar is not sustainable and -- I would even argue -- not very healthy.
Its a temporary fuel source which leads to crash and burns making you crave for more food. Its not the natural energy source for the body reason I now have more sustainable energy since I started ditching carbs.

Sweet potato and potato are mainly carbs, the difference is, it is a natural whole unprocessed complex carb. It doesn't have much fiber or protein though and it is high in starch, not a much healthy option.
Are you not coming back to what I told you before, carbs are not the problem, but simple or low fiber carbs. I would advice you avoid tuber crops, they contain toxins, not just anti nutrients. Most of which remain active in small amounts, even after soaking and cooking.

Go for high fiber proteinacious crops, sorghum millet, fonio, buckwheat, black beans, pigeon peas. Add leafy vegetables and you have all the nutrients your body needs. Some unprocessed whole oil nuts and foods once in a while can also be added, oil that has not being extracted from its whole food source.
You will thank me later.

A lot of people come here to learn. We should be mindful of the info we put out here.

It’s really hard and pretty difficult cutting off carbs 100%.

Also, too much protein will affect your kidneys … especially when you’re over 40.

Yes, I also do intermittent fasting. I only eat between 1pm and 5pm, Mondays through Fridays, and on the weekends, I eat 3 full meals with enough carbs, healthy fats, and protein to match.

My weekly meal during intermittent fasts are very low in carbs, and I make sure the low carbs are complex carbs, mixed with enough protein and veggies.

Our body and brain works well when it’s source of energy is from carbs.

Too much protein is unhealthy for the body. Infact, your body ships out the excess ones and use the one it needs… that’s putting more strain on the kidneys…. And in due time, it leads to kidney failure/CKD.

You don’t need more than 35g of protein at a seating… even the 35g is for people that exercise a lot… for people that are less active, you don’t need more than 25g or 27g per meal.
I agree completely with your comment about protein. I had to enroll myself in a gym program to balance my high protein intake.

I am coming back to Nigeria this month so I am trying to experiment with you you can easily source around and meet the same goal. My sugar was high when I started hence the need to go Carnivore at that time, I have now brought that under control with more freedom to explain.

As we all age its important to eat healthy and be conscious about it so I admire this but I still don't agree with everything here till I do my research but I've learnt alot from this aswell.

This is very commendable sir. Chanced upon this thread some moments ago and took some time to go through it. However,I still think it's a Keto diet, as there are plant based ingredients here. I stand to be corrected/educated.

Reducing / Totally eliminating carbs + Proper exercice is key to good health as one grows older

Nope, these are natural protein, I am building muscles and working out. It has no adverse effect and I have done lots of research on the topic.
What if I don't want to build muscles , just exercise and get fit, can this high protein diet still work?

Not me bro. I will still thrive in Nigeria even if there is an all out war. I have staffs in Nigeria , I have trained my mind to take advantage of the good and the bad. Lots of people became multi-millionaires under Buhari as worst as his regime was. I was in Lagos three years ago and I see million of Naira opportunities every where I looked.

Unripe green plantains have a very high carbohydrate contact - never mind the fact that it is green.

Oatmeal swallow definitely beats plantain meal swallow.
Don’t spoil all your handwork, Biko.

I chop it in cubes, rub garlic powder and paprika before Airfrying for about 10 minutes.

Other option is to pan-fry in extra virgin olive oil or butter.

No p brother, all the best.
I would also recommend you eat your one day meal more in the afternoon or mid afternoon, the body digests food better during the day.
And rests/repairs itself during sleep, night especially.
