Award-winning Nollywood actress, Evan Okoro, has made a distressing public appeal, alleging threats to her life from her husband, Prince Chibuzor Nwachimelueze, just months after their traditional wedding. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The actress, known for her roles in various Nollywood blockbusters, tied the knot with Nwachimelueze on April 13, 2025, in her hometown. However, in a now-viral video circulating on social media, Evan Okoro announced her intention to leave the marriage, claiming her husband threatened to kill her if she dares walk away.

“He’s threatening my life. I don’t want the marriage anymore. I’ve been living in fear since,” she said, visibly shaken.

Evan also revealed that she has filed a formal petition with the Nigerian police, confirming that her husband has already been invited for questioning.
No Bride Price, No Intimacy

According to the actress, Prince Chibuzor never paid her bride price, despite demands from her family. She also disclosed that since the marriage, there has been no form of intimacy, a matter she allegedly raised with her in-laws to no avail.

“I built the house before marriage. He thought I was wealthy and married me for that,” she added.

Evan emphasized that reconciliation attempts have failed, and warned her estranged husband to desist from any harm toward her or her loved ones.

I think someone is lying full-time. It is practically impossible and unheard of that traditional marriage is done without the payment of bride price. I smell lies here.

No bride price, no intimacy. The more you look the less you see. The family and authority should separate them asap, not everybody is meant to be in relationship and knowing that at this early stage is better.

What actually happened in my family was that our in-laws borrowed to find the wedding with the intention of paying back from the money realized from spraying.

Unfortunately, they didn't even realize half of what was needed. 😄
