It's all nonsense. Unless there is laziness and real immigration challenges, they should be able to make the CAD equivalent of the amount in a year. Of course, transitions may create challenges, but these stories are often simplistic and silly generalizations.

Another fake "anti-japa" cock and bull story. I relocated to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada via Express Entry on 1st July 2025 (last month) and everything that I spent is wayyyyy less than N45 million. Food is not an issue because I go to food bank, transportation is about to be covered because I will soon be getting a reduced bus pass (more than 60% discount on monthly bus fare), I am still job hunting but my landlord has started giving me jobs to do around the house and paying.... if you are thinking of immigrating, IGNORE made-up tales like these....

Interestingly, I was still talking about this Indian situation with someone yesterday. Indians and nepotism are like 5 and 6. If Canada had someone like Trump, Indians go down see shege.

Once an Indian becomes a manager of a store or even an engineering department, give it 1-2 years, that place will be filled with Indians. And not just Indians but Indians from his region back home.

One thing about abroad is that the system is designed in a way that as you are making the money, the system is taking it back from you. If you are able to save $200 every month after taxes, expenses and bills, you will thank God.

Using Toronto as example. If you make minimum wage of $2800 per month, your rent alone is average $2,200 for one bedroom.
You will still pay phone bill ($90), electricity bill ($100), water bill ($80), heating bill ($100), insurance for car ($150), food ($250) e.t.c

How much do you think will remain?

It's good to go abroad, but people should lower their expectations of becoming rich using straight up conversion. That's not how it works.

Don’t mind him. Canada is literally free for immigrants ans non immigrants. If you don’t have a job yet, government pays $15,000 dollars per month (that’s around 20million naira per month), yet this this is not enough? Free housing, free tuition, free foods, free ride to anywhere, and as a matter of fact they pay close to $2,000 per month if u are sick just to buy medication. Nigerian are not contented yet
