I can see that you were actually inside the cockpit with her. Whoever told you that you can't rev a plane like that? How do plane attain take off speed? You don't know anything bro.
With the way she moved the plane the anger was very obvious.
There's nothing in that video that shows she moved in anger. I can drag Airbus engineers, Maintenance engineers and even a pilot here and they'll say the same thing. I won't, because we're all busy.

If she radioed ATC and they cleared her for take-off, she's done nothing wrong. The people that should be held accountable is AVSEC staff, who were scared of Big Man-ism and didn't arrest an unruly passenger and cart him off the tarmac. Their boss should be fired for that. I've been saying it from the very first video I saw, they left Kwam 1 on the tarmac once the plane doors were shut and crew had readied the plane for take-off (they won't open it again and let him get on board, as their job is to radio ground and tell them Kwam 1 is no longer on the passenger manifest as boarded). Their job ended once he was kicked off the plane.

AVSEC should have radioed ATC and told them "the baba is refusing to move o" or "we have not cleared the tarmac" and then ATC will radio the cockpit to sit tight.

Have a good morning.

Absolutely correct. In saner countries, The police would have showed up,arrest him, charge him to court and let the judge decide if he should go to prison or not.

We never reach that level yet.

CaptainFM1:
What I see is unprofessionalism in the entire aviation industry.

What the pilot should have done is to call the airport security next time to evacuate him from the flight and around the vicinity of the plane.

Both deserve prison time.
She has actually been suspended from what I heard. It is unprofessional to move an aircraft without following safety precautions.

All of you are happy. I refused to read anything about this valuejet and K1 issues because I know K1 being a YORUBA would be at the receiving end. This is the first time ever I will check any thread on Valuejet and K1 saga on both print and electronic media.

Few years ago, Professor Wole SOYINKA was at the receiving end on a Flight just because he sat beside the Window interchanging his seat with the young man besides him and the young man rudely refused to leave the seat despite the Pilots and passengers appeal. Nairaland, as usual was full of insults against Professor Wole SOYINKA for several days across many threads. So, being a YORUBA, I know Otunba Wasiu K1 will be at the receiving end.

I know why it is always like that. Baba Ayo Adebanjo and Dr Doyin Okupe never knew there is a problem on the ground and created
a greater problem and died with the problem.

Time would tell. What transpired in the plane is known to the Supreme God.

Finally, there is nothing special about the information about the Pilot. The message being passed across by the Pilot name is for ignorant YORUBAS. Timi DAKOLO YORUBA wife wanted to bring Pastor Biodun down and close his
Ministry (COZA) few years back. Pastor Biodun survived it.

My advice is that for now, IJEBU indigenes both in LAGOS and OGUN States should avoid Valuejet planes until the issue is resolved.
The owner of Valuejet is Kunle Soname, indigene of Ijebu Remo, Ogun state.

So I guess your gods and ancestors are going to have to go home and fight their son grin

Let's give tribalism a rest, eh? Have a good morning, God bless your day. smiley

Well, thank God she’s not from the South East—otherwise, some tyrants would have tribalized the matter and all hell would’ve broken loose.

On behalf of all the would-have-been endangered species on that flight, I say a heartfelt thank you to our very own Amazon for your courage and doggedness.

We love you, we celebrate you, and we pray for you to rise even higher in your chosen profession.

God bless you, Ma. 🙏

I understand your frustration, especially when it seems like some people prioritize identity or tribal loyalty over merit and professionalism. That kind of selective outrage or blind support can definitely be disheartening — especially in a country where accountability should be non-negotiable.

But at the same time, it's important we don't fall into the trap of generalizing entire groups based on the actions or opinions of a few. Not everyone from any tribe thinks the same — just like how many from KWAM 1's region publicly called him out, there are also people from "the zone where the sun never shines" who are deeply embarrassed by the pilot’s actions, and have said so openly.

The real issue here is about standards — professional conduct, ethics, and consistency. If we focus on that, and hold everyone to the same standards regardless of where they're from, we can have more meaningful conversations and avoid letting tribal sentiments cloud real issues.

At the end of the day, we all want a functioning, fair country. It won’t happen if we let identity override integrity.
True talk but they will still not listen. You think most of these people don’t know the truth? They just turned a blind eye

She's happily married to Captain Isaac Ogoyi who flies for Uganda Airlines.

She's a pilot of over 10 years. Captain Oluranti joined valuejet some years ago after flying for Arik for many years.
She needs to go for anger management classes . She had no right to move the plane like that . To Kwan , he deserve jail time . To the tarmac staff that did not call for cops and arrest him immediately , they need to be punished too .

In a developed country, KWAM 1 would be arrested and it won't get to that point of him being almost ran over.

If that plane had hit him, it would simply proved that Africans are still largely uncivilized. It would have been a national embarrassment all over the world.
Watin concern Nigeria with embarrassment? You think they care. Can’t you see what is happening in government? If they care, will they be doing all that?

if she was truly cleared and still got suspended, the person that cleared her knowing people were around the plane would have been suspended or fired by now.....stop been sentimental, they have been trained for situations like that,
People break protocols everywhere in the world ,the plane would have hold ground until securities do their thing by arresting k-1 or whoever not that pilot will be doing like agbero trying to run them over.

She was not unprofessional. Learn the ropes of a profession before jumping into conclusion. K1 had no business staying on the tarmac of an aircraft that has been cleared for flight, not to talk of holding the plane hostage. The duty of the captain is the safety of her passenger. K1's act can be likened to terrorism. She acted in the most professional way. Air traffic is not like road traffic or railway.

That have nothing to do with sharp reflex. If he had a sharp reflex, he would have dodged it before it even got that closer. Nothing sharp there, he acted because he saw others bending down and not because he sensed the hand of the plane behind him

You are right with your assertions that we shouldn't allow tribal sentiments to becloud our sense of reasoning in this country. But unfortunately, tribalism or ethnicity has come to be a way of life in this country and the politicians are the major players of this ugly trend when they want to stay put in office and carryout their poor leadership tendencies.
