As Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections, political leaders and influential figures from the South-East have made it clear that they will do everything within the democratic framework to prevent Bola Tinubu from securing a second term as president.

Speaking at a recent political summit in Enugu, prominent Igbo politicians and stakeholders from the APC, PDP, and other parties vowed to unify the South-East and allied regions to stop Tinubu’s bid, arguing that it is the “right time” for the South-East to produce the next president.

“Our people have waited long enough. The presidency has rotated between the North and the South-West; now, the South-East must take its rightful place at the helm of Nigeria’s leadership,” said a senior Igbo political leader.

The summit resolved to launch vigorous voter education campaigns, grassroots mobilization, and strategic political alliances to ensure that Tinubu’s bid is decisively defeated.

Several Igbo youth groups have also pledged to support this movement by engaging in peaceful protests, advocacy, and active participation in the electoral process to guarantee that the voice of the South-East is heard loud and clear in 2027.

The message from the South-East is unequivocal: Bola Tinubu will not win the 2027 presidential election because the time has come for equity, fairness, and the Nigerian nation’s true unity.
