What is the difference between Ghee and our regular groundnut oil, because I know groundnut oil can awaken peptic ulcer and we are told to eat less fries food to be healthy and live longer Nnamdipapa: |

Jayhansdboss:Ghee is clarified butter from animal fat and has a high smoke point of ~250°C (482°F) It is high in saturated fats (~62%) and Contains conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) which is Rich in butyrate and fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) Also supports gut health (due to butyrate) Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties (CLA). Its more healthier than groundnut oil. |

This is it. Yeah! Let me make comments. 1. Carnivore Diet - Based on my observations, it is difficult to maintain for an extended period of time. Your body will signal you to stop and add more fibers. Some people are incapable of doing it even for a single day. Why? Constipation. OP's gut is healthy, and it is a big advantage for him. C 2. Carnivore Diet - If you can tolerate it, I believe it is a great way to jumpstart the benefits of eliminating artificial sugar. At first, I notice that eliminating a lot of sugary foods (natural or artificial) is beneficial. It is also extremely effective at fighting stubborn infections. In my opinion, it is should be used for one month without modifying it. And as you can see, OP's body told him to start adding fibers after 1 mth. In fact, some people will curse whoever gives them such after only three days because they will be unable to pass anything below. They will have to treat constipation. But mehh! I envy anyone who can go on a one-month plan because the benefits are incredible. 3. Carnivore Diet vs. Keto: Why can not we process it like our forefathers? You hear that your kidney will fail and bla bla bla. Na alcohol you day take for you kidney to fail? Lol. Mehn! The body switches to using protein as a source of energy, which is easier than Keto. Keto requires the body to use fat as an energy source, which can be difficult for many people to adjust to quickly. The kind of headache many have from Keto, they can't cope. Lol. So, back to my original question here, we have messed up out gut such that we can't easily process loads of meat and protein like our fore fathers. So, be cautious with Keto, Carnivore, or other diets. Go in gradually to see how your body can handle it. OP is just super lucky that his gut can process meat well. Mehn! I envy him. He is bouncing out of whatever health challenge he has got very fast. 4. OP's transition to Keto - Excellent. Great. However, in real Keto, protein is cut down so that energy can be derived from fat only. But OP is still loading protein which I am not against. If this works for him, why not? Let him just keep listening to his body and I love the way he checks himself medically. That's the way to go. Kidney functioning, and major organs can be checked. The good news is that he is coming to Nigeria. The OP should take advantage of cheap body functioning diagnostic tests available in Nigeria. Check "MECURE". There is one in Oshodi, Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, and some other places in Nigeria. You can go for their top packages which include even MRI, CT scan of brain, guts, etc. Lipid profile is included, kidney, liver, heart, etc functioning are included. Extremely cheap in Nigeria compared to doing them in the UK or the US. My family members always do them whenever they come to Nigeria. Those in the UK can't even have all the tests cos NHS won't cover all. Lol. So, whenever they are in Naija, they do it like every 2 years. Some even, yearly. Note: don't do individual tests or you will pay so high, but ask for their health plans packages. There are Platinum, gold, silver, bronze, etc. Pick any out of this. Also, there are packages for sexual transmitted diseases only, before you say yes to marriage tests, etc. Check very well what fits your need. Nnamdipapa:Sourcing good quality meat in Nigeria is hard. I don't want to discourage you, but research issues with Fulani meat. Also, research chemical produced meat. Fulani meat has its issues, and then, non Fulani pumps their livestock with chemicals. No control or check in Naija ooo. Grains - Check online and you will see that our beans have been banned in EU since 2013 because of high pesticide residue. Na so. This is how all our grains are ooo. "Farmers do their own damages, and damages are finished by warehouse manager" who loads them with chemicals to stop rodents from destroying them. Very bad grains, but we dey chop am like that. ![]() Fruits & Veggies - please, just forget this. Farmers don't wait for fruits to ripen in Naija anymore, so they always use chemicals. Plantain, Banana, avocado (I think this to, pineapple, mango, orange, lime, lemon, etc. Research online ooo and dont take my words here for it. Many fruits. All veggies are bombarded with chemicals oooo. Just warning you ahead. Those foreign fruits like apple, pears, plums, etc are bombarded with preservatives oooo. And local greens like Ugu, yoruba leaves, ibo leaves, south south leaves, hausa leaves (except those from shrubs and trees) are mostly bombarded with strong chemicals. These are the things that destroy gut in Nigeria, and perhaps since you aren't consuming them, you have a good gut. Well, many are still eating them, and issues have not yet come out of their bodies. So, I understand many will argue that we have natural good here in Naija. Lol. The truth is that you.get better food abroad. I don't subscribe to we have better food here again. Dem don scatter and damage everything because of greediness here. They harvest fruits greens and use chemicals to ripen them. Also, they always use strong chemicals to preserve good to make more money. If you want to survive Nigeria and continue your lifestyle in good health, you will need to set up your garden. It is even good for you since you are doing more of carnivore now. You will set up a mini poultry for yourself to start and then add others later. You will not give your birds commercial feed if you want to do a perfect job to your health. I can give you more tips later. Please, don't consume Nigerian eggs with the way you are loading now. You will definitely injure something in your body or the process will start after 6 months consumption. Even 1 mth is enough to start changing your gut. You can easily produce 4 to 10 or more healthy eggs daily. Also, you can easily produce rabbit meat and chicken too. Then, you can source your goats from villages if you know how to. And add beef sparingly to your meal. If you can eat rabbits, then, chicken and rabbits will go a long way to help you. I don't buy frozen fish ooo. Never. The worst food anyone can buy in Nigeria is frozen food. Ha! I can bet that they have refrozen then for at least 5 times. You know what this means. If you don't, research it. Inlove in Lagos and I go to fishermen to get my fish. Though, they have made it extremely expensive now because rich people patronise them these days. Still better than eating frozen fish. For the rest, you can still cope and wash the little veggie you buy with natural washers (not just water or soap plus water) to remove contact pesticides. But they will still have residues inside higher than what you eat where you are coming from. But still OK. Except, you want to step it up further and start growing them too in Nigeria. It will do you well to learn gardening, home poultry management without odor, rabbits management at home without odor, and maybe opening like 6 plots to 15 plots in new developing areas near you to raise goats, cow, produce more veggies, etc. Nigeria is harder to survive if you want to live a good life. Quality food aren't available anymore. I am a farmer and it is why I can tell you the truth. Good luck! |

It still contains sugar. But less sugar. Nawa for you. Okay name one fruit dat does not contain sugar! Even avocado contains sugar but in less quantity. You can't do without sugar my friend. We can only control the amount we take. Nnamdipapa: |

That person you quoted wrote the best mention in this your thread. Fine, you are doing this to build muscles, its for a short-term, then the recipe is okay. But doing dis for a long time is sucidal. Imagine you downloading five(5) eggs in a day, that is a big risk. According to health-information, as adults, we are required to consume just one or two eggs a day, because eggs increases high cholesterol in the human body which is dangerous to the heart. Imagine the redmeat and too much protein you are even consuming, you are not balancing any meal in your life. What then is the practice of balance diet if you skip carbs! You are on a express-road speeding without brakes to damaging your life! As a human, you will always need sugar in your body. "The body cannot work or become healthy without sugar!" Nnamdipapa: |
| Re: My Carnivore Diet Journey Day 7 by Love800(m): 12:49pm On Aug 07, 2025 |
Bros abeg leave that OP. His thread is misleading. Anyone who follows this his food directive on a long-term will have him/herself to blame. Our body cant do without sugar, but he is insisting to cut-off sugar 100percent from his system, just imagine! He might sleep at night and will not wake-up the following morning because of no or low sugar in the body. fredwill1357: |

Love800:He is not asking anyone to follow his steps. Our body can actually function optimally without sugar, in fact the lesser sugar, the better. The body doesn't have special need for sugar, it converts sugar to glucose and uses it for energy. What the body needs is glucose for fuel or a source of energy, it could be fats. No level of blood sugar is too low, the important thing is that it is stable, and not fluctuating recklessly. This is what high fiber, low sugar foods prevents. I think sugar in plant foods is natures way of saying, eat more, this isn't poison. The poisonous plants tend to be bitter, and the safe plants tend to be sweet or tasty. I think the middle part is better, eat plant foods with low sugar content and high fiber. |

Nnamdipapa:Oh wow. Why is that so? |
| Re: My Carnivore Diet Journey Day 7 by fredwill1357(m): 4:34pm On Aug 08, 2025 |
folake4u:More vitamins is preserved that way, especially water soluble vitamins like vitamin c. However, Potato is not a much healthy food, especially for someone on the diabetic spectrum. Plus tuber crops contain toxins. |

Nnamdipapa:do you cook this yourself? Have you been tempted soo far to eat carbs. What food will you miss the most |
| Re: My Carnivore Diet Journey Day 7 by Nnamdipapa(op): 7:39pm On Aug 09, 2025 |
felixzo1:I cook for myself and never allow my wife near my food. This is because I have done lots of research on nutrition and want to be sure what goes into my body. So far, I have never been tempted to consume regular carbs like rice, bread, eba, or processed food. I have also cut out sugar completely and have never been tempted to revert. I still take carbs, though, like broccoli, blueberries and avocadoes. I also avoid sugary fruits like mangos or bananas. I also stick with foods with complex carbs like sweet potatoes in small quantities. The reason for my motivation is that I have lost a good weight, gotten a nice flat tummy, and overall, I feel very strong and healthy. |
| Re: My Carnivore Diet Journey Day 7 by Nnamdipapa(op): 7:44pm On Aug 09, 2025*. Modified: 8:09pm On Aug 09, 2025 |
folake4u:The goal is to take in more fiber from the sweet potato. The skin holds a big chunk of the potato's total fibre. An average sweet potato holds around 4g of fiber compared to 2g without the skin. The same reason It is healthier to eat fruits compared to drinking the same fruit juice. More fiber means better digestion, steadier blood sugar and longer feeling of fullness. The skin is also rich in minerals like Vitamins C, B and potassium. |
| Re: My Carnivore Diet Journey Day 7 by fredwill1357(m): 8:17pm On Aug 09, 2025 |
Nnamdipapa:Are you saying, you eat the potato together with the skin? |
| Re: My Carnivore Diet Journey Day 7 by Nnamdipapa(op): 8:19pm On Aug 09, 2025 |
fredwill1357:Yes, I do. I just wash the skin, cut it up and throw in the air fryer mixed with seasonings and I eat when done. |
| Re: My Carnivore Diet Journey Day 7 by fredwill1357(m): 8:30pm On Aug 09, 2025 |
Nnamdipapa:While online research says potato peels are safe to eat, I don't buy that, the skin gets in direct contact with the soil it grows under. Cooking potato with the peels also changes the cooking water to a staining unappealing colour. Plus they contain toxins, I am not talking about anti nutrients, most of which remain active even after soaking and cooking. No p though, if that is what works for you. However, it is better to increase the fiber content with leafy vegetables. |
| Re: My Carnivore Diet Journey Day 7 by Nnamdipapa(op): 8:33pm On Aug 09, 2025 |
fredwill1357:"Toxins?" Can you tell me what toxins you are talking about? That is science my friend and it does not work with your personal opinion. I eat with the back since primary school in Nigeria. I prefer to go with facts than opinions. |
