I have some questions directed at people who have gone for their F1 interview in July 2025 or know people who have.
1. Is the embassy now issuing 3 months visa?
2. Are there people approved on the spot or is it after social media review?
3. If it is after social media review, how long does it take to issue the visa? Particularly looking at when to fill the when will you arrive question on Ds 160
4. Is listing your social media username in the ds 160 sufficient or the link to the profile is better(possibly to hasten up social media review)

Me: I applied to four schools,and I went ahead to list them


VO: I saw here you have a scholarship from uyirico ent
Me:yes,uyirico is my dad’s company

Then ,he started typing and pass me the blue slip and said he cannot approve my visa.

Omo,I feel so heartbroken 😭😭😭

Please kindly judge,were did I go wrong and when is advisable for me to reapply

Additionally, your recent involvement in discovering clovibactin, a potent Gram-negative antibiotic derived from previously uncultured soil bacteria via advanced technologies like microfluidics, underscores your lab’s pioneering approach to antimicrobial discovery .

I hold a BSc in Microbiology (CGPA 3.45/4.0) from Delta State University, Nigeria, and completed an undergraduate thesis investigating the antimicrobial activity of Tridax procumbens against E. coli and S. aureus. In this project, I led plant extract preparation, conducted susceptibility testing, and applied statistical analysis using R and Python. My research experience as a volunteer research assistant further deepened my skills in environmental microbiology techniques, PCR, microbial culture assays, and scientific communication.

Your group’s focus on rediscovering natural products from uncultured environmental microbes, identifying persister cell mechanisms, and applying microfluidic screening to massively scale antibiotic discovery aligns profoundly with my interests and experience. I am excited by the prospect of combining my background in plant-derived antimicrobials with your advanced discovery techniques to contribute to novel antibiotic leads or microbial therapeutic strategies.

I would be honored to learn whether you will be recruiting graduate students for Fall 2026, and whether any funded positions or assistantships are available within your lab. Finally, it’s obvious no favorable date for interview and as the case maybe I have a problem and in need of Risky advice.

My early resumption Date is 3rd August 2025 and i have 22nd October 2025.

What should i do at this junction because i don’t want to start asking for a New form1-20 that will warrant submitting bank statements and waiting infact the session has start.


Do you advise i go for the interview the outcome will depend on if i defer or get an emergency arrival!!!

Hello, I'm in the same camp. Submitted on May 28th and CEAC still shows " Application Received". No change for the last 10 weeks.
F1 visa renewal. Class resumption is fast approaching. Really in mental distress now.
I really don't know if any F1 visas have been issued since the policy change back in June. My last status update was July 2nd.

I am worried. A friend of mine did her interview since June 13 in Abuja but still placed on AP. Her school will be resuming on the 18th. What do you advise she do?

I've been on AP since June 17 and mine is renewal which I did through Dropbox. They sent me an update email 2 weeks ago to ensure all my social media accounts are set to public before they proceed with social media vetting. I don tire sef.

For guys on AP, please is there a specific format for sending the notification email that you've updated your socials?

No simply just confirm they are set to public. They'll respond quickly to confirm receipt of your mail.
