Was Tinubu the one claiming to shift Nigeria from consumption to production? The people condemning Obi are particularly angry because he himself is not practicing what he’s preaching. He wants a production economy, yet he’s one of the largest importers of finished products into the country. Like una dey crase or something?
Nobody is really taking Obi seriously per se and we are only concerned because if a lie is left to gain ground and fester for too long, a time would come when it would be very difficult to curtail.
If Obi hadn’t been in government before or if he’s known for building local goods production facilities, nobody would be this vexed. The largest importer of goods telling us we are not being productive enough is an insult on our sensibilities.

Weeray, who told you Obi built the brewery? Go school una no gree. Obi invested State’s funds into the already established industry. He didn’t build the brewery from scratch but partnered with and attracted them to invest in the state. Tell us one production company built by Obi for him to have the moral authority and effrontery to tell us we aren’t producing enough and that he would move the economy from Consumption to Production. It becomes even more annoying and an insult on our collective sensibilities coming from one of the number one importers of finished goods in Nigeria.
Nobody would be angry if such claims and promises were coming from an industrialist like Dangote because people are judged with what they do and not what they say.

Same people would be angry anytime Dangote refinery is credited to Tinubu despite the fact that Tinubu’s involvement wasn’t indirect since he built from scratch, the land on which the refinery is situated.
