The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cautioned its members against publicly endorsing President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027, warning that such actions amount to anti-party activities and breach the party’s constitution.

In a statement on Friday, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, described recent endorsements by prominent members as “a serious threat to the stability and sustenance of our party.”

“Of serious concern is the persistent public media outbursts against our Party by some prominent members whose actions and utterances — including their public declaration of support and willingness to work for the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 Presidential election — in violation of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017) constitute a serious threat to the stability and sustenance of our Party,” Ologunagba said.

The warning follows open declarations of support for Tinubu’s second-term bid by PDP figures including Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory; Ayodele Fayose, former Ekiti State governor; and members of the PDP Osun State caucus.

Citing Section 10(6) of the party’s constitution, Ologunagba stressed that no member is permitted to undermine the PDP’s interests or activities, adding that such conduct has fuelled division, disaffection, and loss of members.

Giving Wike the go-ahead to work for the APC without first asking him to resign from the PDP was the beginning of your problems

Which is worse between endorsement and actually rigging an election against a PDP candidate in favour of Tinubu?
PDP should just save us the disturbance.
It now belongs to the history books of political parties.
There was a time we had NPC, NCNC, AG, NRC, APP, ANPP and co.
They are all gone now.
There where PDP belongs now.

People sell themselves so cheaply. Where is the democracy if we operate a one party state.

If they want to endorse Tinubu they should move to APC

This country doesn’t work because we corrupt every system.

Opposition is a checks and balances against totalitarianism.

A cautioning voice highlighting the plight of the people.

But no Nigeria everyone is a horse trader. Make noise until they get paid off then they keep quiet. Because all they see in doing politics is how to fatten their pocket smh

PDP should just close shop at once let us know the remaining parties we have on ground.

One minister will be dictating the terms of agreement and peace and openly supporting the opposition and nothing is being done to sanction him.
