Did I just see or hear Onitsha Port? So, where now is the landlockedness of the SE, a farce that has been peddled for far too long by Rhino O'Monkey due to his hatred for the region?
With simple geography, You should know south east didn't kiss the atlantic.

Who are even the ijaw as a tribe? Even the bayelsa they have many non ijaw clans and igbo clans

Ijaw is a political making you can't call a bonny man, Otueke man or even ilaje man an ijaw or even Pessu man an ijaw ... Maybe Patani will agree but okirika said they aren't ijaw

they have no choice than to allow it...it's an international water cabotage law...not allowing it is prerequisite to anarchy and chaos
Ignore that clown. Ijaw proper starts and ends in bayelsa, the rest like andonni,okrika,kalahari,billie,opobo,bonny,abua/odual,engenni are linguistically different.

Am disappointed

So much noise about this onisha port, yet nothing ....
So this is the first barge of containers??
After all those chest beating of competing with lagos.

Some people are all bark and no bite
oga, nobody is competing with anybody.

One day, those who own the containers will definitely find their way and you will eat your port.

Those holding them will be tired. Just one day

It will cost nothing for the federal govt to dredge the river niger but ethnic politics won't allow those in power to do it. Dredging the river niger and making all the ports in the south south to function properly is far more important than even building a railway to niger republic.
Did u really mean to say it will cost nothing? U think dredging is to hire a few boys to carry shovel and be packing sand from d river shore? Dredging is going to cost billions, for a govt that's already borrowing to finance d budget, where do u expect d money to come from? Except incremental revenue from such a project is materia enough, no govt would that. Also consider the environmental impact to the riverine communities in d Niger Delta which may be excess flooding and disruption to the fish farming activities. So what u think is simple is not that simple

Dredging won't cause any flooding rather it will make the river niger more deeper to take in more water and also prevent it from overflowing and causing flooding. If there's no money how come tinibu is constructing #19t coastal highway while abandoning federal highways all over the country that are in terrible condition?

I honestly pray Tinubu intervened. Most igbos will still not leave Lagos even if it become so good cos Lagos is a version of mini Nigeria which has the highest patronage. How will Emeka who sells electronic will now ship his goods to east, so he expects who reside in Lagos to come down and buy when yomi for instance can simply take the advantage and start shipping and selling the electronic in the area he has left. if Emeka chooses to still operate his store in Lagos, then shipping to the east and taken it back to Lagos to sell back is foolishness and it will lead to loss. The population of Lagos should be close to 50m. So there is already a market. I can place a bet that if Tinubu dredged the Onitsha port, 80% of igbos into buying and selling will still remain in Lagos. Only the few industrialist and those already selling similar items will benefit cos they will save cost of transportation of thier equipment and others from Lagos to their region.
You’re assuming Lagos’ population will keep growing regardless, but in reality, it would drop if other regions develop. The reason Lagos is overcrowded is because it offers opportunities other states don’t. If the East, North, and South-South had strong infrastructure, working ports, and thriving industries, many people would return home for cheaper rent, less congestion, and more local opportunities. Businesses also follow markets if millions move back, traders will go with them. People don’t stay in Lagos just for “mini Nigeria”; they stay because the rest of the country isn’t equally developed.

When u dredge, u expand the river and the volume of water rises, what do u think will happen to to d adjoining fishing communities? The coastal road is being funded by debt, d road connects d two regions that sustain d federation account; South South thru proceeds of their crude oil and Lagos thru VAT so d investment is worth priorotizing. SE and Onitsha's contribution to d federation account is as small as a seed of groundnut so it can't be on top of the picking order. It should wait

So it makes more economic sense to u to abandon the existing bad east west road and be borrowing trillions to construct the coastal road?

Those who want Igbos to go back to the east should tell the federal government to put more effort into this project.
So, na others go tell FG make dem allow you go. Wetin your Reps and Senate members dey do?

You just dont like accountability and responsibility. So, FG would listen to a common man easily than Reps that move a motion in the house, or you expect non-Igbo Reps to move the motion on your behalf
