Thanks for your input. Actually, he is going for masters in another field- social work by research. My understanding is that he will only pay for the first year tuition and provide the one year POF (about 29k aud ). We earnestly want him to take advantage of the current status in Korea and try Australia. As for his PhD, he has finished the credit courses and satisfied the publication requirements. What remains is the chapters of his dissertation.
Kdamilola:
It might be quite difficult for your brother to get a scholarship since he already has an MSc (most scholarships state that to secure a scholarship, "you must not be applying for a degree you already have". Also, justifying why he wants to do a second masters will be really difficult when applying for visa. He could want to "be silent" on the MSc degree, but it's highly likely that they will find out and that will be worse (could lead to automatic refusal based on false information, and perhaps a 5 year ban). However, if he's paying, securing an admission wouldn't be a problem, but convincing the DHA might still be a herculean task when applying for visa.

I think his best bet is to pursue a PhD in Australia since he does not currently hold a PhD degree (he's only enrolled in one).

That's just my opinion anyway. He can do more findings then make a decision.

Wishing him all the best!

Hi there,

Maybe it's what you're thinking, because I really do not understand what you've typed here.

Please, could you post my message to you here.

If I messaged you, it's probably because I was looking for help with the tax return - I guess there was a time in this thread where you mentioned you could help someone with it.

But thank God you didn't reply to me.

My agent asked me to leave it out till they ask for it. I'm grateful that they never requested for it.

Do you have publications? It's very important in getting supervisors attention. I remember having a zoom meeting with a Professor in the University of New England and he mentioned the fact that he was impressed that I'm able to publish in a particular journal where he had also published.

Within this year, I was able to get about 8 supervisory approvals from different schools. In fact in some schools, I get approval from two different professors.

More so, ensure that you attach your updated CV (with a list of your publications and conference attendance), proposal and MSC transcript to all your mails to professors

Try to always send a reminder emails to them if they didn’t reply you, at least weekly. I could remember I emailed a professor up to 4 times within a month and he replied that he saw my email and forget to reply and ask me to go ahead to apply. Also, u can email up to 5-6 supervisors in a sch and about 10 or more sch. make sure ur research areas correspond to what they do. Avoid sending long emails, let ur CV do d talking.

Best of Luck

Hi Gurus in the house. Need your guidance please 🙏🙏

Recently received a PhD scholarship offer at one of the Go8 Australian universities covering full tuition fee, stipend and also received couple's OSHC support based on agreed terms.

My questions:

1. What are additional supporting documents, aside the CoE, GTE, OSHC & all related medicals, am to include in my visa application for myself and wife only?

2. In what ways can we show strong home ties considering that I will be applying with my wife?

3. Do I still need provide statement of account as proof of funds for the couple's visa application considering that my research program is on full Scholarship?

4. Can you just give a general tip on what best to be done to increase my chances of getting the visa for myself and wife applying once?

Finally, I look forward to connecting with anyone in my case intending to apply for couple's visa from now till June this year.

Thank you so much for your anticipated responses and tips.
Hy...I guess you're in Australia now. Please how did you prove your home tie in your visa application?
