“I would rather die than remove Jesus from my profile” - Spyro recounts industry pressure to drop his faith

Nigerian singer Spyro has opened up about a defining moment in his career — one where his faith was put to the test by those closest to him in the industry.

The singer revealed that after leaving his former record label in 2019 to start his own journey, he took out bank and personal loans to fund his career. With no external financial backing, Spyro says he relied solely on determination, hard work, and his faith in God.

However, not everyone on his team believed that his overt Christian branding was a good idea.

According to Spyro, some team members approached him suggesting he change or tone down his “Jesus Boy” identity, arguing it might be limiting his appeal and financial opportunities. They even advised him to remove “Christ Ambassador” from his profile.

“I remember saying I would rather DIE than remove Jesus from my profile,” Spyro recounted, adding that while he understood their point of view, he could not compromise on his convictions.

When he refused to budge, one person suggested he at least change it to “Child of God,” calling it a broader term. But Spyro stood firm, insisting that the name of Jesus would open doors for him.

Fast forward to now, and Spyro says the same people who doubted him are calling to commend his success. “A lot of artistes are suffering now — no deals, no shows — but you are in a very good place and I am proud of you,” one team member reportedly told him.

If people who associate with idols don't find qualms in doing so , Christians should also have the boldness to identify with God.
Kudos to Spyro for letting them know that one with God is majority.

Why don't you become a gospel musician at once because your teammates are right. You can not be promoting secular with a gospel tag. It looks confusing and two-headed. They are actually right. Switch to gospel or change your tagline. Don't be like Chidinma who later reverted when it was too late and now she's struggling. Truth is, most of these secular singers all had gospel upbringings and played one instrument or the other in church. How they switch sides is a marvel.

The one who knows the right name but thinks what billions of people know (both dead and alive) is wrong, what is the real name of Jesus Christ, the son of God, brought into the world through Mary and Joseph?

So, if His name is not Jesus Christ of Nazareth, then every other name in the holy book, too, is wrong? 😂😂😂😂

Some of una dey muzz me!

I'll say it here because I may not have the time to see your mention/quote/reply...

If you think that the bible was written by one person and everything there are fictions, something is wrong with you! If you think that the name is not Jesus Christ or Emmanuel (Immanuel), you need to have a sanity test.

It your own eyes that needs to be open to see the truth. Is name ain't Jesus, if they could change the name of the suppose son if God, what do you think they will do to his msg?.

I wrote a book about this.
Book title

Christ Consciousness: The Path Yeshua Walked.

Exposing the Illusion of Religion and Returning to the Living Christ Within

What if Jesus (Yeshua) didn’t come to start a religion, but to awaken the divine light within you?

This transformative book unveils the hidden teachings of the real Yeshua, exposing how modern Christianity replaced divine truth with fear, ego, and illusion. Through each chapter, I takes you on a journey from the illusions of the 3D world to the truth of Christ Consciousness, the divine awareness that Yeshua lived, taught, and embodied.

You’ll discover:
The difference between the real Yeshua and the religious Jesus

How sin and separation were man-made tools of control

Why the Kingdom of God isn’t in the sky, but within you

How to die to ego and rise into divine awareness

What it truly means to live as Christ on Earth today

This is not religion.
This is your awakening.

If you’ve ever felt the hunger for more, more truth, more love, more clarity, this book will guide you back to the living Christ already within you.

You're right but this is still incomplete.
The will of the Father is simple, believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and accepting him as your savior, which leads to eternal life - being born again.

Then he continued to admonish after:
Love your neighbour as you love yourself... In all that you do, do it to Glorify God... Give and live a sacrificial live to build treasures in heaven... Pursue peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see God (heaven).

So yeah, Spyro is not off the cause... About his songs, I'm not God and can't judge him, but as long as the songs are not taking souls away from the kingdom or glorifying the devil, I believe he's spot on.

By the way, Im not a fan of Spyro, I can't remember listening to any of his songs from A-Z
