Five Reasons Why President Tinubu Might Lose The 2027 Presidential Election. by AhmedPeacemaker(op): 6:26pm On Aug 10, 2025
Here are five reasons why President Tinubu might lose the 2027 presidential election.

Economic Hardship:
Tinubu's administration has been marked by unrelieved economic hardship, staggering inflation, and a collapsing naira, leading to widespread discontent among Nigerians. Over 76% of Nigerians disapprove of Tinubu's performance, citing worsening economic hardship, insecurity, and corruption.

Disconnection from the People:
The president's leadership style has been described as disconnected and exclusive, with critics arguing that he prioritizes vanity projects over people-centered governance. His excessive foreign trips and extravagant spending have also drawn criticism.

Insecurity:
Tinubu's administration has failed to tackle insecurity effectively, with banditry escalating in the North-West, terrorism persisting in the North-East, and kidnappings becoming a nationwide epidemic. Nigerians are tired of empty promises, and the slogan "Renewed Hope" has turned into "Renewed Hunger".

Opposition's Unity and Strategy:
While Tinubu's policies have been unpopular, the opposition's disarray, hubris, and provincialism might not be enough to secure his re-election. However, if the opposition can unite and present a strong alternative, they might stand a chance. Critics argue that the opposition is too divided to form a coalition, too impatient to build trust across regions, and too blinded by immediate resentments to think in terms of long-term electoral triumph.

Failed Promises and Lack of Trust:
- Tinubu's administration has failed to deliver on its promises, leading to a lack of trust among Nigerians. The president's Renewed Hope Agenda has been described as "a set of campaign promises, not a coherent governance plan". With social media becoming a digital battleground and civic consciousness on the rise, Tinubu's old playbook of political manipulation might be becoming obsolete.

Tinubu would lose the 2027 presidential election because he sucks at leadership.
His tenure is filled with hyper-inflation, massive corruption, nepotism, Tribalism, Agberoism, gross misconduct and total disregard for the rule of law.

Well meaning Nigerians are tired of his government.

With the way the coalition is going Tinubu will loose in 2027. Any attempt to rig the election will definitely reset the country.

You forgot his biggest crime as a President:

Tribalism, Nepotism & Divisive Leadership

Tinubu is the most nepotistic and divisive President Nigeria has ever had since independence.

His appointments show clearly that he is clannish, close-minded and ethnocentric without remorse.
