I went to Abuja, somewhere in that area where they have Kaduna road(I’ve forgotten the name of that area-very popular town). Was there for 3days. Power only went out for 3mins all through the 3days.
I used to think my former estate in Lagos (hilltop estate) had the best power supply in Nigeria. Abuja own shock me.

In ughelli, Delta where I stay... Power has improved considerably in the past 10 days. I've had light like 21 out of the last 24 hours since yesterday. I don't know what is driving The improvement. But I'm not in a hurry to be upgraded to Band A abeg, if that's their plan.
Gabrielshow24:
It's been like that since January. The light, especially band A recipients, has improved considerably. While this is good, there are still other factors that need to be done to ensure it's nation wide. More generation, transmission and distribution is needed to ensure full nationwide 24/7 supply. This is a nice development... appreciate it but don't dwell on it as a yardstick... Other areas are in complete shambles—Also, No one graduates with 4.0CGPA by only 4-pointing one course🤔😂.

According to kukutente23 and his crew, all of you are Yoruba APC data boys on Tinubu’s 30k monthly payroll and you’re all lying.

No, what we are all saying is that during the rainy season power supply is usually better due to the accompanying rains and increases hydro power generation.

Why not recreate this your thread in January or February so we can compare and contrast? cheesy

You don’t need to be petty to prove a point. Yes, Band A regions have seen an increase, but not all regions fall under Band A—simple. Even if this is taken as some form of success, it doesn’t guarantee that the current administration has done well, especially given the unprecedented and debilitating decline across various sectors.

You’ve experienced stable electricity in your area since January and a lot of Nigerians with similar experience like you decided to share their experience and the person I mentioned attacked every one of them by calling them paid Yoruba Tinubu data boys. When that did not fly, he changed mouth and said the improved power supply is as a result of the rainy season.

Conveniently, you did not accuse him of being petty. In my OP, I did not even mention Tinubu name. I only gave kudus to the power minister and his team and boom, you all are trying to make it all about the Tinubu administration. How now? Can’t Nigerians share their experience again without being called names? Why should any reasonable person be triggered by a thread like this?

He is right and you are wrong. Why can't you explain why the power supply has seemingly gone up? Did they increase generation, transmission, or distribution or did the power magically improve itself? This thing happens every year during the rainy season. If the government did any thing to improve power, will they not have been shouting it from the rooftops enh data boy?
Because you want support Tinubu no mean say you no go get sense.

That’s his fault—his myopic view led him to make such a statement. Perhaps calling you petty was too harsh; my bad. Also, you’ve done well. At least he’s learned a thing or two. He probably inferred from your post with firebox123 that you were ‘celebrating’ Tinubu, hence his disbelief and brusque reply.

Don’t worry, the fact still stands: those on Band A enjoy steady power supply. It’s been four days since my light last went off.

So, I saw this thread on X formerly Twitter where Nigerians from all over the country are expressing their happiness over the improved power supply in the country. Most people claimed they have abandoned their generators as a result of constant supply of electricity. This indeed is what sharing. We may not be there yet but we must acknowledge the improvement we are witnessing.

Kudos to the Minister of power and everyone involved in the electricity sector from generation to final distribution to our homes and businesses.

I stay in Makurdi and can tell u for free that power supply has been nothing short of wonderful. We get 20-24hrs power supply o! Even if it's raining, light dey still dey full. Was even telling my wife that, so for those times they'd take the light when it rained, it was just out of wickedness?

Available records don’t support your claim. Hydroelectricity contributed approximately about 20% to Nigeria’s power supply. Thermal plants powered by gas now accounts for about 80% of electricity supply in Nigeria. We can give credit when it is necessary and stop trying to see no good always just because Tinubu defeated your Igbo brother.
Not sure why I was tagged in this post. I never mentioned anything about hydro electric power in my post.

I pointed out the straightforward scientific and technical reason why power supply is always somewhat better during the peak rainy months; and NO, this isnt about hydro dams, rather it's because the overall energy demand is lowest in this season due to the cooler weather which reduces the use of heavy energy consumers like air conditioners.

This trend has been consistent for decades, cutting across multiple governments, regardless of who’s in power. But apparently you seem convinced it’s tied to the politics or tribe of the current administration?

They are paid to testify the propaganda but the reality is there's no light specifically my state Adamawa, we no the see light except if you are rich then you connect your house to Band A which you will buy cable that will supply only your house, and the cost of the connection is better you buy solar system

Bro matter of fact Band A get improvement and that's norm in naija but commending minister of power is wrong because usually power supply get improved during rainy and its Band A that have this experience which means few people enjoy it while the poor is not seeing ligt like me is about 4 days now no light in my house

Look at the guys you quoted. The first guy gave a timeline of 10 days. The other is referring to a place he visited for 3 days. Only one guy says power has improved since January. Sometimes I wonder if you guys started living in Nigeria in 2023. Are you seriously telling me that throughout Nigeria, there's never been anywhere that people enjoyed what they will call relatively stable power for a period over the past 20 years? Like I said, you guys are only pushing an agenda. Folks who have ever been to shiroro or Bonny island will tell you power has even dropped I'm terms of stability. Having a short period of power improvement is not a sign of power supply improvement neither is it anything to rejoice about. There are several mitigating factors and I stand by what I said especially about those goons on twitter

Kudos for what? What is the percentage increase in power generated, transmitted or distributed? What is the percentage increase in access to power by previously unserviced areas? That's how you measure improvement in power supply not one Yoruba APC supporter speaking for Jos people and another speaking for Hausas in Gusau all from their office in Lagos. I'm sure if it was criticism of power supply and all the complainants are Igbo you'll be quick to use that to discountenance the criticism no matter how genuine. You brought the divisiveness here. Don't try to claim saint

I read both the executive summary and the full report and all it talks about is the estimated amount of electricity billed to the customers as well the total amount of electricity generated.

There’s nowhere in that report that alludes to your point of the unreliability in gas generation.

Like I said and I will state it again, you are clearly misinformed.
So based on total amount generated has there being increase since then? That's my initial point to you
