It baffles me how people that have never flown once in their lives feel they can tell us how to be safe while flying, ridiculousness everywhere. I've flown locally several times and never once was I Forced to switch off my phone, airplane mode is fine, I know people that don't even bother putting their phones on airplane mode and the flight still goes smoothly

I work in aviation, commercial helicopter in oil and gas,you are more than correct sir,they can even lay an allegation on you as a Terrorist, your eye go clear,and yoir ego for fall yakata

It is standard practice everywhere that phones should be switched off before flight...the air hostesses won't go around checking everyone's phone to ensure compliance but it is expected that as a reasonable human being that you comply with basis instructions.

Next time you are on an international flight bring out your phone and put it to your ear and pretend to be making a call then see the reaction you will get from the air hostesses and from fellow passengers!

She got to her destination and started fighting crew members and staff despite the fact that she should have been earlier stopped from flying and you are comparing her with kwam 1 who almost lost his life. From the story circulating online, I think the girl did put the phone on flight mode but the hostess insisted on it being switched off for whatever reason, I might be wrong tho but that's what I've been able to garner so far
