Those asking for what the government has done to support his creativity does not know how Taxation works.
Most importantly, Taxation is a tool used to reduce the gap between the rich and poor esp in a capitalist state.
As a rich person, whether you benefit or not, the Government is entitled to take out of your fortune to subside living for the poor. (That's how they fund public hospitals, schools etc)

It is not too much for someone making 20M per month. It is even less than what he's to pay.
He should be paying around 55M based on the amount he said he makes.
Maybe he should pay 200 million then, since he makes 20m monthly, how much has the Lagos state Government invested in him cos I clearly see you don’t know how tax collection works, let me school you.
He is supposed to pay 24% of his gross income? So if he makes 40 million in a year, his tax must not be more than #4.6million
kiss that fact

When you arrive this world
You weigh like 3 kilograms
Within a year you are 9 kilograms
Where did it come from?
The earth
By the time you are 40 years you are 90 kg
From where
The earth

When you die you give everything back
You just BORROWED IT and you must pay back

Some people call that earth God

After God is Government

So when you go about thinking you are anything

Just remember where you came from man see one woman carry am go somewhere do am dat tin
Next tin you are in the house shouting My money

This earth done dey here e done Tay.
4 billion years

People dey go dey come
One dirty man f. Uc. K one dirty woman produce you

Where is Michael Jackson today ?
Where is Abiola

Where is Buhari

I have never seen God but I have seen Government

Who dey claim say him get property for Ukraine now

In Japan tax is 55%
If you make 1000

Government takes 550

That is to remind you that everything belongs to Government they just allow you to live on their land

Someone that did not go to school will never understand the reason for tax. To such a person it is extortion.
They charge him according to his boastful mouth
Is it not extortion though. Why should he pay tax? What does govt do for him? Literally everything he uses, he pays for. And he pays for tax in every other means. The govt taxes everything and does nothing for the people. Why should they pay tax.

Tallesty1:
Peller did not complete his education due to poverty, which in Nigeria is the product of decades-long governance inefficiencies, inequitable wealth distribution, and the absence of affordable, quality education.

Government investment in citizen capacity-building during Peller’s formative years was non-existent.
As with millions of Nigerians facing this systemic disadvantage, Peller struggled for survival until, through self-driven initiatives, he achieved economic success.

And boom! The vulturous Lagos State Government has issued a tax demand in millions.

This is a standard operational pattern:

1. Provide no structural support at the foundational stage.

2. Apply maximum fiscal extraction at the success stage.

This is why, when Human Development Index (HDI) is raised, they quickly deflect to Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) — because HDI measures accountability, and accountability exposes failure.
You are expected to pay tax in your income.

He was assessed based on what he claimed to make per show

The 36 million naira he’s being charged is even smaller than i expected sef. Shebi they’re the ones constantly regaling us with tales of how they make tens of millions of naira monthly? Buying houses and cars?

Govt knows his BVN and sees the inflow coming in. They can estimate his earnings and tax accordingly. I’m shocked it’s that low, and he definitely needs to pay up.

It’s clear many of you are leeches that don’t pay Tax. If you did, you’d be pushing for everyone to pay their fair share.

Forget about rich and poor
everything

Repeat everything inside the country BELONGS to the state

It is a privilege to be ALLOWED to live there and be PROTECTED to live there to earn a living

Any money you make there BELONGS to the state

In the US when people die inheritance tax is 40% in Japan it is 55%

This is not about rich poor but ownership

The state owns everything inside it including the people that is why it can conscript people into the army to go and die in war.

Those people that died after conscription are no less important than wealthy survivors

When another country attacks can a rich man defend his land ,his wealth

That is when we know who really owns the land

Don't mind them! Clearly they dont pay tax. Celebrities be running up and down Lagos flaunting wealth and harrassing us with their sports cars, yet the dont pay tax. if I were in charge of LIRS, Burna Boy, Whiz Kid, Rema, Tiwa, Don Jazzy go hear am. Anyway this new Tax Law will help tighten the noose around evasion. Me wey dey pay N2mln tax a month, it really peppers me.

What school did Peller go to. He probably went to school free in theis Lagos. Quality might not have been good, but without it, he might not be where he is today. he'd probably be washing windscreen in go slow.

You guys who went to dirt cheap University and were born in dirt cheap general hospital should go easy in saying what has government done for you.

A lady recently told me she makes millions monthly on TikTok from people gifting them. Another one shared her income with me . These are not popular people on TikTok . There is money to be made there . Then if you combine that with YouTube , Facebook and other social media platforms , these guys make huge amounts of money online . Now lagos and Firs can be monitoring such accounts but searchlight can sudden be on you if you are loud about what you earn .

Unfortunately for Peller , some people have decided to use him to make money since he is loud and can’t keep his income quiet . Eg he will settle some people so that the amount can be reduced . That is the LIRS and FIRS way

See stop hiding behind anonymity to be rude

Go around calling names because you have a different opinion

The state and everything inside it belongs to the state. People fail to understand the nature of a state and think they have some individual importance

It is a privilege to be allowed to make one Naira inside Nigeria
Government can force people to join the army to go and fight Boko Haram
Those people dying there now don't they have families?

Government can say they are taking 90% on any money you make?
Government can say when a person dies they are inheriting 90% of his property
They already do so around the world Google countries with highest inheritance tax

Yes government can extort citizens
That is the nature of a state

This week out of Nowhere Trump told Nvidia
I will lift the ban on sale us chips to China if you gives us 15%
Just like that
Out of Nowhere

Government does exactly what Agberos do they just package it nicely

But observation of Agberos helps to understand the real nature of government
Which is owo mi da?
And if you don't pay you feel pain

I am not saying it is good or bad

It is reality

Wake up
