Kwam1 cannot be punished with imprisonment by reason of his connections to the powers that be. Therefore, in order to ensure fairness and equity, the minister has done the right thing. Kwam1's offense is even more grievous that Emmason's.

A case I read yesterday, a guy caught some girls stealing in a farm and tried to rape one of them in exchange for not telling on them. The matter later get to the authorities. The guy will be charged. And also, the ladies had already been charge for encroaching and possibly stealing. Now that is a legal resolution we expect in a sensitive case like this.

This to me is bourgeois.mentality which I doubt can prevent future occurrences. A man obstructed a plane from taking off after pouring certain liquid on the Pilot & an Airport Security Staff simply bc he knows Mr President & is now to be made Airport Ambassador in the 21st Century while the Pilot & her Co Officer are to undergo social/behavioural trainings!!!? Habba !!! What a joke of a country.

Kai, once again, the system fails to apply punitive measures because of our culture of begging after the facts. The major beneficiary in all of these is KWAM1, this lady just created the perfect excuse for the government to give him a slap in the wrist. Now, hope folks can now see why the aviation security guys did not manhandle KWAM1, because the security personnel involved would probably have been secretly sacked, if not today but in the future for very flimsy excuses.

When you reduce the authority of those who have been empowered to act in certain situations by not punishing the offending party, you water down the effectiveness of the systems you put in place. From now on, air hostesses will no longer seriously want to enforce passengers switching off their phones because if they now realize that they get slapped in return, the system will not protect them.

This is one of the reasons police do not arrest some class of people because they know that it would sometimes be them who face the consequences of doing their job whereas the so called big man gets a slap on the wrist or teachers who no longer correct children in school because the big man parent will assault them and nothing will happen.

It's all a matter of what the lawyers can prove in creating as messy a case as they can.Everyone would collect. Comfort and Ibom airline the most.

The only thing about the minister acting as a mediator in all these cases is if others in future will also look for forgiveness* as well when people misbehave on aircrafts.
