Court Discharges Ibom Air Passenger by abc115(op): 3:25pm On Aug 13, 2025
An Ikeja Magistrate Court sitting in Ogba, Lagos State on Wednesday, discharged Comfort Emmanson, the passenger accused of unruly behaviour and assault aboard an Ibom Air flight.

Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami discharged Emmason following the withdrawal of the five charges preferred against her by the police.

Earlier, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, (SAN), announced the decisions following consultations with stakeholders in the aviation sector.

According to the minister, the resolutions were reached after reviewing the incidents, considering appeals from well-meaning individuals, and considering the remorse shown by those involved.

I bombarded Keyamo with messages about hearing one side of the story and coming to a judgement. How can a lawyer not hear both sides of the story and be making decisions. Comfort need to sue that air hostess.

For your sanity avoid Ibom airline. The most unprofessional airline

Honestly to clear her name, but they can then resurrect charges against her if she does, so let the matter die

I hope she now takes up the civil aspect of the matter. But I'm certain they'll browbeat her to cower.

This isn’t complete

She needs to be given ambassadorial position
Re: Court Discharges Ibom Air Passenger by SporaD8: 3:58pm On Aug 13, 2025
She was prejudiced on and judged based on her dressing.
The viral video was supposed to swing public opinion against her, and almost everybody took the bait!
However, after listening to accounts from other passengers aboard the plane, it was concluded that her offence was not worth the public humiliation and treatment.

What happened to her was a byproduct of her actions if we are to put emotions aside.

It still amazes me how people find it too difficult to obey simple instructions. if she had comply with the aviation staff, the ugly incident she encountered would have been prevented.

The Aviation staff themselves too were unprofessional in handling the matter, lbom airline should trained their staff on how to be diplomatic when the needs arise

And lastly the person who uploaded that video of her been dragged out of the plane need to be punished. It is not everything that should be posted online, Nigerians should be made to know this.

Nigerians still deserve to know what exactly transpired before it all got escalated to that point.

Her saving grace was event of KWAM 1 some days earlier. They can't punish her while KWAM 1 walks free.

Shameless government at all levels.

With tails in between legs.

What could they have done to her after the travesty with KWAM 1?

At this point, they owe this lady a ministerial position.

A huge lesson on How to wreck and bury a country 101.

I will fly with Ibom Air whenever I am in Nigeria. We should learn to obey simple instructions where you find yourself.

I am sure the conditions for all these will be that no legal actions will be taken by all parties . It is very sad sha. The air hostess was not the one who pulled her top. There was a second hostess with glasses who did it . Carefully watched the video

This lady was charged to court at the speed of light yet K1 is walking free after a possible attempted (intended) airplane hijacking that was never investigated at the time it happened.

how about boniyansh and boniboob. Well that was on a lighter note. She was lucky her case came up right after kwam1 she would have probably be spending a long time on jail. Using violence to resolve any kind of conflict is not helpful.

I still want a comprehensive investigation carried out with a full report sent to my table to find out lapses and where decisions were taken and how they can be improved to de-escalate a breakdown of order. Very important
I don't trust Nigerian service providers with professionalism AT ALL. Thanx
